Hello just wondering if anyone else has experienced this

    I have a 2016 SR5 with a 3/2 level on it with UCAs and 31s

the ride on highway is honestly so rough I feel as if every bump in the road is felt on my seat and steering wheel

is this common for a lifted Tacoma or is there a better lift that will smooth out the ride

It’s just spacers and block lift and I understand these are a cheap option but every other truck I’ve leveled has not been this bad

    thank you for reply’s

What pressure are you running in your tires? I found that running 32PSI in 10-ply rated tires was way too rough for me. I dropped it down to 27PSI and it is a lot more comfortable. But I also have a suspension lift with some damn good shocks too...not spacers.

I assume with the leveling kit your adding additional preload to your coil overs. Obviously, this is going to create a rougher ride.

That's normal for a 3" spacer lift. Get what you pay for.

Spacers placed between the hat of the strut and the strut tower should have no effect on preload.

Thank you for fast replay, i have good rear shocks, but if coil overs are the fix for the front I find the rear bouncy as well what would make this better

A new leaf spring pack with a progressive rate and weight rating equal to what you load in the bed/towing tongue weight. What shocks are you running in the rear?

You should get a Tundra, Wrangler/Gladiator, Bronco, Ram, or even a Rivian R1T. Something with a rear coilspring suspension. Or convert the Tacoma leaf setup to a IRS.

    Lesson learned.

Spend the money to do it right, or it'll ride like shit. :cookiemonster: There are no shortcuts to good suspension, audio, or lighting.

Sadly, these aren't the best option.

When did you notice the harsh ride? As soon as you put the lift on, or over time?

Spacer lift will make the ride significantly rougher for sure. I had it on my old truck and did a proper suspension lift on my new one and its a world of a difference.

Step one would be to check tire pressure. I have a 2" RC spacer lift up front and experienced absolutely no iota of degradation to ride quality. I recently got new tires (Cooper Discoverer's) and politely requested the tire shop inflate to door jamb spec. Rode rough as shit so I checked the pressure and they decided 45psi was a good idea.
