    Hey Everyone,
I need a rear bumper assembly for a 2004 toyota tacoma double cab. I don't want to pay 200$ for a new one - I'd rather just get a used one from parts pull place. However, no tacomas there. I wanted to see if I could use a rear bumper off another tundra or vehicle or any other vehicle really that would fit. Any input would be appreciated.

A Tundra is much wider and the bumper style is nothing like the 1st gen Tacoma bumpers. Using a bumper from another vehicle is almost certainly going to require modification and fabrication to work.

Keep searching unless you're ready for a new one.

Car-parts is sometimes useful, but you have to know how to use the tool. Used parts is often more a waiting and looking game than anything.

What condition is the rest of the truck in?

I would be calling local junkyards and looking for eBay, jcWhitney, and Amazon for aftermarket ones. Have you looked at keystone automotive yet?

Seems like the low end is $150 and only goes up from there, Good Luck.

Damn. Gotta love toyota tax! Unfortunately I have checked the junkyards and no dice. However, thanks for the leads regarding other websites, I definitely will check 'em out. Thanks Joe!

These bumpers rust out from the back side so anything you find at your pick and pull probably ain’t gonna be in great condition. You can buy new after-market ones on EBay and Amazon for around $150. There not gonna be the same quality but they fit and look damn good.

If you are not in a hurry, start watching Amazon Warehouse. You may catch a return for some blemish or scratch. I have bought 2 trailer hitches for my 1st gens that had very small scratches and were marked down 30%.

Today, I bought a Moog upper control are for $29.00. Regular price is $70.00. I went ahead and bought the opposite side for regular price. So, average it out and I got each for $20.00 below list price.

any bumper can fit as long as you are willing to fab a little :sawzall::welder:

I dit fit a 1985 F250 rear bumper on mine but I had to cut and shorten it

though if you take a ranger, mazda B or any other smaller compact truck bumper, you will only need to make modifications to fit your tacoma frame brackets on it... or make custom brackets from scratch

I went back and looked through my Amazon orders and the one I bought back in 2019 for $129 is long gone. Looks like $189 now for the least expensive.
