Tacoma trd sport access cab in 2022

Is toyota making 2022 tacomas with access cabs? I ordered one over 10 months ago and have not been given a build date yet. Very frustrating!!!

They sure are advertising the wheels off their 2022 access cabs currently on tv.

 

It will be interesting to see what Toyota offers when the 4th Gens are released. Remember, Toyota discontinued the Regular Cab near the end of the 2nd Gens.

Yep - they are rare to find in TRD Sport and even worse in TRD Off-Road. Here's my video review of the one I picked up back in April...

It took my dealer a couple of months to find me a TRD Access Cab. I'm wondering if they are phasing out the access cabs too. I see tons of double cabs, but not many access cabs on the road.

 

I thought they were also. They seem to be scarce in some parts of the country. You just need to continually search dealer in transit inventory until you find one you like and put down a deposit. You may not be able to wait on your dealer.

 

My dealer referred to a Sport, Access Cab with a manual transmission as a Unicorn the whole year it took them to get one on the lot. Now that I have it, it was worth the wait.

 

Access cabs are pretty cool and they're 4 doors, too.

 

When you do get your Access Cab, build a dog platform for the back (even if you don't have a dog). It is great for Costco runs and stuff you don't want in the bed. I built one like the picture in post #1 on this thread.

My Access cab sport 4x arrives in a few days. Had to wait 8 months.
I noticed 95 % of new trucks are double cab, but they do make a good number of access cab Sr5s, and Srs
Trd Sport and Offroads are rare.

My Sport is hopefully showing up in August. Got tired of waiting for an Access Sport with tech+prem since December. Every sales guy I spoke with said no way. I finally got tired of the "wait some more game" and gave up on the tech+prem pkgs and grabbed an allocated Sport from a sales gal that actually seemed to want to make a sale.

 

Yep, the local dealer used the same word to me. So I found another dealer. My unicorn is being built the week of July 11.

I hear you, both sports and OR are hard to find. I’ve been looking in western regional and finally found one local and I had this delivered last night… Access cab TRD OR Lunar Rock…


I looked for awhile and found lots of SR5 4x4 access cabs, and plenty with $2k off msrp.

This appeared yesterday morning on a search and I got it done all online.

 

I think the 4th Gen Taco will still have an Access Cab, but instead of the reverse back doors it will probably just have short normal opening doors.

 

A dealer near me has 11 access cabs, 6 are TRD sports. When I was looking for one last year the salesman didn’t even know what a access cab was
