Tacoma TRD PRO Discontinued??

Hi Guys,

I got a call from the dealership on Thursday Aug 24th 2017 saying that the Tacoma TRD PRO would be discontinued, so they were going to refund the downpayment for the tacoma.
I don't know if they are doing this because the TRD Pro is dead or because this dealership in particular couldn't get any more tacos (or any other reason). Any ideas?

 

They probably could not get one, try another Dealer later.

My understanding (based on the 2018 thread) the Tacoma Pro will be produced in 2018. I believe a new color is available.

 

Yeah if he is wanting an 18 it will be an even longer wait.

 

I heard that toyota made only a few thousand of the Pros and that's all they were going to make. Each dealership got so many and that's all they will get. Some dealerships were lucky to even get one.

 

I found an article on the internet saying it would be mid 2018 before they hit the dealership

 

Its not discontinued. They just said that because they cant get one and wanted you to buy a different model from them.

Maybe they're confusing it with the Tundra PRO??

I'd be surprised if most dealers could tell the difference between a Tacoma and a Tundra.

 

That is incorrect. The 2018 Toyota Tundra TRD PRO has been discontinued.

 

2018 Tacoma PRO is still live and well. They discontinued Cement (if that's the color you wanted) and replaced it with Cavalry Blue. Not a color for everyone, but I like it (FWIW).

Find the biggest dealer in a reasonable radius from you. Stores with more volume get the first allocations of special vehicles. Also, if there is a will, there is almost always a way.

Expect to pay every dime of MSRP on a PRO...

I think production numbers is about ~1000 in each color, ~3000 total. Act fast if you want one!

 

I would wait until the 2018 Tacoma TRD PRO is available. Sunroof and JBL will be offered. Unfortunately, cement color has been discontinued.

I was told the same thing by a dealer on Sunday. I think there is some misinformation floating around though. I guess we will find out...
