I wouldn't say just the MSRP being a factor. large jump in MSRP, People potentially holding out for hybrid variants, potential dissatisfaction in the appearance department are all factors.

Everyone always forgets about a ramp up phase and it did not help that they stopped shipping in February for a QC hold. But with that typed out...they are starting to stack on the lots. Found one that broker Jim R had on his list for $4600 off....deals are out there and more are coming. No reason to pay MSRP anymore!!!

It’s hard being an old white dude on the Internet. If he was a girl he’d be doing his third transparent try on haul for the week.

It’s because they are barely available to buy. Hard to sell what hasn’t been built and shipped yet while production ramps up. You can’t compare full rate production months to initial release months.

The month in question in april. Obviously March and Feb look more like changeover months where there was no supply

Obviously we have to give it some time to see how things pan out. Prices on the new model are up quite a bit. I personally think the true test will be next year when all the people that had to have the new Tacoma get one.

They will sell lots of non-hybrid, hybrids will pile up just like the and be discounted just like the Tundras are doing. The masses don’t want Hyrbid stuff but some will fold for the right price.

Toyota should have kept the 3G around. Tacoma Classic, they could have all been AC 4x4 with the 4 & 6 cylinder.

Personally could care less about Toyota's bottom line. Sluggish sales will mean deals available to those in the market.

I agree Toyota would have to beat their own sales numbers to be considered winning. Over all vehicle sales and production could be on a downward trend and ICE production numbers could have already seen their ATH. If every manufacturer sells less vehicles going forward, those old numbers don't count for much.

We're almost halfway through 2024 and 2025 is still at 0% sales.
    The future is very bleak.

Over 5K down from April 2023. A good amount less than any month of 2023.

Taking out Jan-Mar, April's sales times 12, sub 190K for the yr. Still leads the midsize market huge. Will have to see if other makes are eating into market share. At the continued sales rate, I'd expect a huge oversupply and big discounts.
