My buddies raptor and my taco. That bed is massively bigger. I know I know … not 6’ on mine. But not like you can’t get a longer bed on the f150

I can't see a price cut for 25, I expect a price increase at minimum. Maybe Toyota will cut production. With the Tundra issue, Toyota needs to make money off every vehicle sale. Perhaps deeper discounts and incentives.

I already stated still having reluctance to own the Tacoma and absolutely no way plan to own something bigger, less efficient and with crappy crash test results. We lost family member to one of the Ford crush-o-matic cabs. A 2024 F-150 gets significantly poorer crash ratings than a 2024 Tacoma.

For other comments, our company fleet has had a big pain from the recent Ford and other recalls. I'd rather vehicles have a quality hold than a bother after I buy it. It was pleasing to read Ford has started that. 140,000+ new gen Rangers were held.

I'd like to have a MBZ Sprinter, low roof short wheel base 2500 AWD. I don't need a van, it's like 65k, and diesel. I'd do a cargo version with a modular 2nd row.

We looked at that. For $65,000 I'd exercise marriage math and buy 1/2 a Land Cruiser with my wife and trailer more LOL. We also have experience with the costs to repair aging Sprinters whether from the work fleet or a family member. Almost all of my interest in a pickup again is for the soon to start redeveloping a small property. I want an open bed vs the van I already have.

The auto industry has had so many SFQ problems in recent years that I applaud any shutdowns or care if it means cutting the chance of dealing with that crap.

Does not seem like many Tacomas available at my local dealer, only a couple crappy SRs that have been there for a few months. Unless you absolutely need a new Tacoma (how many people really fall into this category?) its better to wait a year or three and let supplies come up and prices and rates come down, while also letting performance and reliability data roll in. Thats my approach, anyhow.

On the plus side, according to carmax, my 2015 Taco increased in value by $400. [They sent me an offer]

No joke. Not sure if they're happier when sales dip or a problem pops up. Its a race to see who can post it first and say how much better their gen of truck is.

What if the 3rd gen was still in production and the sales numbers for 2024 were still the same? That would be front page automotive news. Toyota would still hold the #1 spot in midsize sales. Would there still be as many trucks on the lot with a discount that haven't sold?

I would say it’s going to be a popular data point until at least this time next year.

I’m also interested in the competition, and their sales.
