Tundra/ Tacoma still at the top of the list for 2023 resale values.

That’s nice, but how much sense does it make to rank 5-year resale values for a year model only a few months old?

 

How many people are in the market for a used 3rd gen Tundra? Tundra is kind of a niche vehicles as far as Ice 1/2 ton trucks go. Two years into a new generation, and used prices are probably close to new prices, and no financial incentive to buy used over new. Unless a buyer can't find the 3rd gen Tundra they want new, why would anyone be shopping a used 3rd gen Tundra? Why wouldn't they just wait until a new allocation comes their way?

I can see the demand for 2G Tundras, or any vehicle that's no longer in production. Even a used R1T, it's new tech vs a twin turbo 6 lead times are growing and could out pace the life of the company.

KBB just makes things up, and it's the model people go by.
