So most of us are aware that Tacomas are the best resale value vehicles out there. I was curious to know what you folks were being offered for your truck. How much was depreciated from the day you took it home? Please let me know the specs of your truck too.

    thanks!!

I installed 10k in upgrades over the 3 years then wrote it off last month hitting an elk. Claims adjuster gave me $39k CAD. You’d never get that from a domestic.

Did you buy your truck for you or the next guy to drive it. It really all depends on what trim and what your location is when it comes to resale value.

I’m fully aware and thats why i said to list the configurations of your vehicles. I was just curious to hear on this topic since this is what us Tacoma owners are known for throughout the market.

This kind of stuff changes daily. That’s why dealers use NADA and KBB for values. Along with inventory they currently have and auction prices.

Funny the 2017 owners are the ones claiming their truck appreciated 4%
Next they’ll offer it for sale at a discounted 2% appreciation to the believers

You take the biggest hit the minute you drive it off the lot and for the first 3 years. Just check NADA from time to time. Certain times of the year it does go down or when a new redesign comes out. But, for the most part the Tacoma holds its value. Tried to get my wife to buy a Toyota. She went with a Ford explorer sport, which I really love. She wanted a new one till I showed her the initial value and the 3 year old value. Sticker new 58000, 3 years later bought a low mileage one for 34000. That my friend is a huge hit, Now 2 years later it is only worth 24500. Just doesn't happen for the Tacoma, at least not yet.

depreciation value? Why would anyone want to sell their Tacoma? You can have my 2020 AG Pro when you can pry it from my cold dead hands. And I plan on living at least another 30 years. Then, my son-in-law gets it. By keeping mine mostly stock, I'm sure it will be increasing in value by that point.

Yep, traded my 2017 almost 2 months ago for my 2020. Bought new for $36 and traded it for $30.5.
