I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma 4 by 4 off road. I want to know if anyone could tell me and I need model numbers away to look these things up what grill or bumper guard I can get for my 2017 Tacoma and I'm thinking about hooking a 5000 pound winch up to it. I need to know also what is my winch pull limit from the front if I hook up this bumper guard. Any thoughts?

A grill or bumper gaurd cannot support a winch.

A 5000lb winch is an atv winch not a truck winch.

You can look up your factory part numbers here, replacement grills and bumpers aren't cheap.

    https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/s/TOYOTA__TACOMA/parts.html

I think what you're asking after is a winch platform, hide a winch "bumper" or stealth bumper like this:

    https://www.***********************/products/hidden-winch-mount-tacoma

What type of bumper gaurd you're talking about depends on how much it can withstand.

I believe you may be thinking of something like this:

    https://www.extremeterrain.com/barr...T4BOcY-JWHF0MDUW_KnMN6tq6XSNPHahoCasYQAvD_BwE

Wich can support exactly 0 rated lbs of pulling force and about 150lbs of pushing force.

Why do you need a winch?

No offense but you seem a little uneducated about the subject and I'm afraid you're looking to get yourself hurt.

No offense taken because you are correct I am uneducated in this situation. I want some type of guard over my front bumper in case somebody bumped into it at the store or I accidentally run into something and it protects my vehicle mostly the front. Also needs to be able to hold a winch on the front just in case I get into any trouble or I need to help somebody out of a situation. I need to know the amount oh force that the front of my vehicle can take to be able to put the right winch on the front to be able to do things like this I want to keep the amount of strength that a winch can pull underneath the amount of pounds at the front of my vehicle can handle obviously we're talking about the frame of the vehicle. I definitely need to be better educated because I want my truck to look cool but at the same time it needs to be functional.

    I agree with @Key-Rei
Do some research first, if you still have questions, come back and ask.

*IF* you get a winch buy a warn. They can be had used and rebuilt for about half what a new one costs, they're more reliable and less finicky in general worth the extra money, generally speaking you want at least a 8000lb winch which only has 8000lbs pulling force on the first wrap of winch pull and decreases quickly the more it spools up which is why most people get a 10k winch, more wrapped up headroom for shorter quicker pulls.

If you want actual protection on the front you need at least an ARB front plate bumper or a heavier built plate bumper this requires some cutting and fitting and completely replaces the front bumper and crash bar there's no "over the top" of factory gaurd that can offer true protection.

"Push bars" and "Brush gaurds" are often called damage multipliers by trail guys as they often hang low or wide snag up and bend and fold like wet toilet paper when more than 200lbs of force is applied, a truck rolling at 1mph can provide... A LOT more force than that...

How much your front end can pull varies by too many factors to get into but you're not going to rip your front end off in a straight line pull with a 10k winch unless you're being absolutely dim, when you start adding inclines, being stuck in mud without digging out infront of the tires, side loading the winch (not pulling in a straight line) then you start tweaking things.

Generally speaking whatever you get that is designed to have a winch in it will hold, it your front frame horn pad mounts that you will bend or tear.

Start watching recovery videos on youtube I recommend Winder Towing.

    https://www.youtube.com/c/MattsOffRoadRecovery

Educate yourself, if you can go to a recovery course in person, buy quality gear and more important know how to use it learn about 2:1 pulls snatch blocks shackles soft shackles, recovery points, kinetic vs static rope, recovery straps vs tow straps etc.

    Buy a small shovel.

Again hoping I'm not being offensive or belittling but if I had to guess I'd say you are probably younger and this is your first truck?

If that's the case I would actually tell you to *not* buy a winch, you won't need to recover your buddies half as much as you've talked yourself into now and it will cause more headaches and a larger hole in your pocket than you probably want.

Get a good kinetic recovery rope and a hitch shackle and you'll be set for a good long while, ask yourself in a years time if you really still want that winch.

This is coming from my own experience of being a young guy with his first truck a decade ago.

    Want vs need conversation

I doubt you need a winch. You can do quite a bit with a buddy and a snatch strap.

Now if you're going out alone then yes a winch is an incredibly important piece of equipment. I'd bet you can do alot more than you think without it. If you're wanting to play off the beaten path find a group that you can ride out with.
