Tacoma bed width clarification?

On Toyota's website it has the bed width listed as 41.5". I've seen other sites that say the bed width is 56.7". I was thinking that the 41.5" is the measurement between the inside of the wheel wells and the 56.7" is overall width. Is this correct?
