I saw a new Colorado the other day with a 5th wheel trailer and the hitch in the bed so I was wondering if a Tacoma could do the same. Don't know if the Colorado was the diesel version or not. It also looked like it was a short bed Colorado, but not sure.

Where there's a will, there's a way, but you'll probably have to take your interior bed out to mount it.

Fundamentally, the Tacoma has framerails, so you can probably mount a fifth wheel if you really, really want to. But it'll involve a lot of hackery and you still won't be able to pull a whole lot (in fifth-wheel terms)

Exactly. You will decimate the payload and gvwr. Leave that for the 1-tons.

I have no intentions to do it, I was just more curious as I was surprised to see a mid size pickup doing it

Toyota does not recommend using a 5th wheel setup in a Tacoma.... (it's somewhere in the manual).

Give me enough time with a torch and I could mount a fifth wheel in the back of a '96 Buick Roadmaster. It'll probably leak a little bit, and the backseat won't be comfortable.

The 5th wheel alone will probably max out the payload capacity of the truck.

Search Scamp 5th Wheel in the towing section. They only weigh about 2400lbs and a few on here have towed them.

I saw quite the sight the other day, a SRW super duty 5th wheel hauling a FORTY FOOT shipping container. Truck was all but dragging the bumper, don’t know how he could see anything over the hood.

    *bump

I'd still like to see a Taco with a 5th wheel in pics lol.... some 5th wheel trailers are in and around 5000lbs. I would think that would tow just as good or better than attached at the bumper. I've seen a couple 2nd gens with them

...... you bought the wrong truck, as did I. Tacoma’s belong on those types of trailers, not towing them
