I am looking to see what is the cleanest way to install these two items from yotaverse

    V2 Tacoma Pro Grille (2016-2023 Tacoma) -
    https://www.yotaverse.com/collections/grilles/products/v2-tacoma-pro-grille-2016-2023

V2 Pro Grille LED Light Bar Kit -
    https://www.yotaverse.com/collections/grilles/products/v2-pro-grille-led-bar-kit-2016-2023

The finished product would include: 3 raptor lights, left and right DRL's and the light bar.

Ideally, looking for some type of harness that plugs into the factory plugs to light this the correct way so that I don't have to splice anything or touch the fuse box. I also wanted to know anyone's opinion on how each light should function?

3 raptor lights - Thought is that these should function the same way that factory raptor lights should function, right?

DRL's - Function as DRL's of course and then also function as left and right blinker lights, etc

Light Bar - Curious on what's the consensus on how this should function? Should this be on with the DRL's or low beams or both?

I'm new to the Tacoma world so just trying to figure out what is the easiest and cleanest way to accomplish this.

Update your profile with your truck. Assuming TRD trim, we also need to know if it’s 2020+ and came from the factory with OEM LED headlights.

There are no factory raptor lights, all are aftermarket additions.

For light bar backlight you’d want a relay involved. Smaller devices like headlight trim plates can probably just piggyback on the main circuit, but if you’re doing a relay anyway, you may as well feed clean power from that relay everywhere and switch it off the DRL + park feed from a T harness from me (or someone else, e.g. for halogen you can also do R4T, DD, etc)

You’re going to have to do some building here, though light bars typically do come with relays if you buy the harness.

combining DRL and turn is simple with an SR (how it works from the factory) but harder with TRD (requires additional modules)

you might find drawing a diagram helps you organize the final setup.

I don’t really have time to aid in the design of more complicated solutions as this tends to become a bunch of custom work. Admittedly, piecing things together takes some real effort and it’s not always clear what the best choice is.

My bad, I've updated my profile. I have a 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport w/ OEM LED Headlights. Here is a picture of the Yotaverse v2 Grille wiring. What do you have that could make that install clean for the that portion? Also, after doing some more reading on the light bar (wiring end has a black and red cable), I guess I would just have a relay and switch in the truck to turn off and on.

    Yes.

one side to your grille lights and a long lead across the grille (this extra piece of wire will be one extra piece I’ll try to remember to add) then the other side will have the long turn (opposite side), short turn (same side) and the same side pigtail for DRL + park and ground.

Not plug and play but most of the annoying stuff you need to get it done.

Thank you. I just placed the order so you should see it. And thank you for including the wiring that I would need for a clean install!

    Hi Dave,

Not sure when you would be able to work on this order, but just a reminder about that extra cable that you are going to add, thanks!

Most likely next week. I’m traveling today but back tomorrow. A fair number of orders since I left town

Sound good, thank you! I'm still a bit confused on the wiring portion of it, but I'll reach back out if I need a second option once I get the parts.

I've worked it out with Yotaverse to do a full review of the V2 Grille Light Bar and want to showcase your harnesses for a clean install. Could you assist with providing more information of how the raptor lights and DRL's will integrate with the harnesses?

I really feel like this is something you can do.

Ok no problem, I'll figure it out. Was just posting that since I was trying to make sense of what you said earlier since that was not too clear to understand:

"one side to your grille lights and a long lead across the grille (this extra piece of wire will be one extra piece I’ll try to remember to add) then the other side will have the long turn (opposite side), short turn (same side) and the same side pigtail for DRL + park and ground."

I'm assuming since you work with the cabling all the time, it's like second nature compared to a newbie doing it for the first time :)

I’m not going to rob you of a learning opportunity. I consider that the entire reason most of us do this type of stuff.

I also don’t have any vested interest in documenting specific solutions other than my own mods, and the more time I spend documenting others’ work, the less time I have for my own stuff.

Hey Dave, I am also looking to run this same grill on my 2019 Tacoma. It came with halogen lights, which have been upgraded to the 2020+ LEDs.

I read the product description for the harness you recommended to OP but it states “you don't want this T harness as you would be better served with the headlight conversion harness with grille lights item.”

do you have the link for the harness you do recommend for my situation?

    Then your choice is:

    1. Get a halogen T from me or R4T for grille lights and keep existing harness
    Or
    2. Buy a driver side w grille lights from me and swap out that side.

1 is less expensive, 2 is a little cleaner IMO but I’m nitpicky on these since I spend too much time with wires.

Awesome. Thank you. Assuming I will need two of either solutions if I want to also run the DRL of the grille right?
