Taco Vinyl Legit?

    Hey TW, what have peoples experiences been with ordering from Taco Vinyl? Are they a legit company or a scam? Their customer service has been pretty bad throughout my order with them.

    I ordered a Pro Grille on Feb 17 and never received any shipping notification, I followed up on March 16 for an update and was told my order would be shipped within the week. Apr 14 and still have not received a shipping notification and my latest follow up was several days ago with no response yet.

    I have ordered several things from them going back to when they were only on Etsy, most recently in the last week a replacement letter for my aftermarket grill they sell and never had any issues and good communication. They have returned messages within a day or 2 any time I have contacted them. Try this email support@tacovinyl.com

    I have purchased decals from them before and did not have any issues, but I did not have to contact them for any customer service related problems.

    Save your time and money and go with someone else for Toyota parts. Ordered their Pro Grille Kit which comes in two different versions: the 2014-2019 model years and 2020-up model years. I own a 2014 4runner and ordered the 2014-2019 kit. After 3 weeks, my package arrived half opened since it wasn't safely packed. According to website, the kit comes with 3M mounting tape and adhesive primer, which were missing. But what's most ridiculous is that they have sent me a 2020-up model kit which doesn't fit my vehicle, which I realized after I have removed my factory front grille. I checked my order many times to see if I ordered the wrong kit but it says 2014-2019 on all my confirmations. Messaged them and no response. Called them and no one picks up, but it seems they have time to post on Instagram. Toyota parts can be pricey and we all work hard to get our dream built. Stay away!! I will be purchasing my parts from other vendors from now on.

    I got those keyhole blackout vinyls from them, but those are like $3 and there were no issues. Sorry to hear about your luck on a more expensive item.

    I ordered bumper caps from them over a week ago and have received no communication from them at all. I reached out to see when i might be able to expect them, and they havent responded.

    I was curious if anyone else had issues with them and found this thread. I'll give them a few more days to respond before I see about doing a charge back, but ghosting customers is pretty unacceptable.

    They told me they had a 1-3 week lead time. Today was 3 weeks so i reached back out and they said they were finishing paint and they would ship Thursday. I guess it makes sense if they paint them in batches. I also wonder if more standard colors ship quicker, but i don't know.

    Ill report back when they arrive and comment on color match. I know you can get more standard colors from other places but this was one of the only places that did inferno. I'll be ok with the wait if the paint work is good.

    Got my bumper caps today, overall I'm happy with them and the paint match is good. Their communication got better but the bar was low to start. They let me know they were in paint and when they shipped out.
    The only complaint with the caps are it looks like they put one in bubble wrap while it wasn't fully cured or something because it has a few little circles from it on the paint. It doesn't look like it's in the paint, but rather on the paint. They are only noticeable when i was holding one and the light reflected off it just right (see photo below), and I think they should come out fairly easy. Im fairly picky about paint, and overall i'm happy with the product.20240521_170500.jpg

    Awesome, thanks. And I’m picky about paint too, but that looks like it would come out with some rubbing compound.

    Agree, will note the texture is the same as the oem painted fender flares and front bumper.

    I hope you got your order. I ordered a hood decal from them before and it took them a awhile before they shipped it. I actually got another decal from another company instead of waiting for them. I tried following up thru email but the owner of the place got defensive and mad instead of apologizing for the delay.

    Taco Vinyl are drop shippers - They just told me that over the phone after I had to initiate a chargeback for an order that never shipped.

    Skip them for sure if possible.

    We drop ship items made by other companies but make all our badges, vinyl and other items in house. If there is a delay on another companies item, its because that company hasn't shipped it out. I'm the owner of the company. We stock really popular items but for random things like support brackets and specialized racks and bumpers, we do drop ship those. We have a great relationship with all the companies we work with but sadly, none of them are Amazon that offer 5 minute shipping. Most of them are small-large shops that started from the ground. If you have questions on lead times before you order, call us at 208-697-4555 or 208-559-8144. We love our customers and try to provide the best support.     The key to good customer service is a prompt honest service communications. I can take bad news (Sorry Mr Smith we had accident with your merch and it will take two weeks to ship your new one) But telling me that it's shipping tomorrow and two weeks later still not showing picked up by UPS is another issue. Making 2nd and third inquiries to be told by Elora that she sent it out only to wait for a shipping update that never comes is poor customer service period. BE HONEST and tell me your waiting for your supplier to deliver, ship etc. Again if it's going to take weeks tell me don't sting me along. Also answer the phone! You can't leave message because the Voice mailbox is always full.
