Because I live on the west coast where it rains like a dog 65% of the year :) so if you live in a desert state, you're good, but I s recommend using never seize regardless of where you live

I transferred the t slot nuts from my '11 to my 17. they have a little oxidation on them but does not interfere with anything. I got them from Fastenal 5 years ago. Slide easily through the bedrail and do not fall out where the slots for the OEM tie-downs fit in. I did have to put 2-3 washers in to draw in the tie-downs I have.

I use the unistrut (superstrut) spring nuts from Home Depot, though they don't slide easily. But they're cheap and easy to get, just clip off the springs. Eventually I'll make some from bar stock and tap 'me METRIC. I hate accessories which force you to have SAE hardware and tools on an otherwise metric truck, but the Home Depot solution was quick and easy for my bike mounts.

Does anyone have the actual dimension of the nut? OP's pic doesnt make sense to me.
I need to machine a few to allow metric bolts...
A rough hand drawing is good enough. Anyone?

Find them on McMaster Carr. They have drawings for all their items. I'm on my phone right now and it's early in the morning or I'd do it for you.

Maybe im blind... How does overall bottom width to be 1-1/8", and top center to be 9/16" when both middle notched area is 1/2"?
Shouldnt it be 1/8" at the top or middle area should be narrower?
I am talking all dimensions in horizontal.

These work, just use a grinder to remove some material as they are a little long and insert them vertically in the rail. Stainless steel as well.

Anyone who thinks this is too expensive or that you could go grab it from your local lowes or home depot...I can save you the trouble.

They probably dont have it and none of those jerkoffs even have a clue what a tslot nut is.

Seriously everyone just buy the ones on Amazon, they definitely fit the bed rails very nicely. All these other products look very cheap and sound like they require modding just to fit... It's too bad Toyota doesn't have a part number for these...

Do these fit the 2nd gen rails too? I'm assuming so. Haven't measured.

    Edit: yes they are

I ordered mine from them. This has been covered multiple times with the 2nd Gens and Grizzly Industrial had the best prices from what I researched. These are the ones I bought, 2 packs of 4 and didn't need them all, but that just left a couple extra if ever needed.

I've been using that Mavcoat stuff on these and the bare exposed steel. It really helps minimize the corrosion and rust. Expensive, but can go quite a way as you don't need much if undisturbed.

Prices change on Amazon quite frequently. It's usually $14.95 as it was when I posted that. If you look below at the "Products discussed", it shows them for $19.25. Place them in your cart, but "save for later". That way you can monitor when the price changes. Learned that Amazon trick a long time ago and you can usually get things for 1/2 off if you're patient enough. I've bought some items that are normally $120 for $45 and noticed that the price went back up in a matter of hours.
