I want to replace my steel for synthetic winch rope. Any recommendations on brands or any brands I should avoid buying?

I like Dyneema® SK75...be sure to inspect your drum for rough edges that could damage your line before respooling. Make sure the line working load is well within the winch rating. If you start throwing a block in the mix you increase loads quickly.

I’ve been looking at Amsteel blue. Bubba And yankum although they cost so much. I know amsteel is
Dyneema is what I’ve been leaning towards. Although I couldn’t find what yankum and bubba are made from. But ther is brands on Amazon like xbull, smitty built, badlands from harbor freight that are dyneema for a lot cheaper. A bunch of others as well. What is your spool loaded with? Also if I use a block. Does that double the line load? I have a 8000lb winch and If I use a snatch block should my line be now rated for 16k?

I'd avoid Habor Freight for my winch line. The loads that are generated while winching, especially once a block is added are incrediable. To answer your question, yes to 16k 18,000 would be better yet.
Heres a nice line https://www.masterpull.com/superline-xd-winch-line-3-8-9-6mm/ I think this is the one I have currently. The 3/8" is best for a 8,000lb winch...check out their sizing guide.

The price tag can seem a little hard to swallow at first but break it down by a per foot cost at around 7.00/foot for something that will save your $ass is worth its weight in gold IMHO. Not the place to scrimp, save up and buy right the first time.

If you're new to winching its best to pratice in a controlled setting. I really like this guys channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXxLh8shMu8
I have seen some scary winching out there on the trial. Its a great way to get really hurt or dead...be safe, and have fun!

Yankum Ropes synthetic winch ropes are made from HMPE, which is not Dyneema (UHMWPE).

    https://yankum.com/collections/winchline-accessories/products/winch-line?variant=39734977134798

If you're still shopping, as a brand ambassador, I can offer 5% off at Yankum Ropes, using "YankumSafely"

Edit: personally, I'm a huge fan of their hookless fairlead. It removes one of the last bits of metal, so you can have a truly synthetic winch recovery system. Removes the possibility of a hook flying at your windshield, if your shackle or strap fails.

    Soft Shakles are the way.
Placing an order for this https://yankum.com/products/winch-h...38542&pr_ref_pid=6667237294286&pr_seq=uniform can I use the YankumSafely code here as well?
