Sway warning vs Sway control

NOOB question but "What is the difference between the two?" Sway Warning System vs Sway Control System.

Veh Spec sheet says SWS and stealer sold me on SCS. Is it even available in the Tacoma Sport?

Could be wrong, but I think those are two completely different systems, and the Sport is equipped with both.

Sway warning is part of the lane departure system. If the vehicle detects too many lane departures, especially in a left-right-left pattern, a coffee mug will display on your dash that says "take a rest."

Sway control is part of the tow package. If youre towing and the sensors detect trailer sway, the truck will start activating individual brakes to attempt to bring that under control.

From that link it says "Then if automatically applies brake pressure to the individual trailer wheels. It also eases the engine torque. All these actions combined help to steady the trailer and the trailer cargo."
How the hell does it single out the individual trailer wheels?

 

It doesn't. That link doesn't have it right, sway control only activates the trucks brakes, meanwhile you're hoping that your aftermarket brake controller sees the brake light signal and activates the trailer while all of this is going on.

 

I thought sway warning had steering assist. Mine doesn't.

 

Not on Tacomas.

 

None of the Tacomas come with steering assist.

Yeah I have Lane departure assist also but mine doesn't steer you back into the lane

 

No Tacoma does.

I have yet to meet one I like.
