Could you by chance guesstimate the weight of that sway bar? Was it off a 1st gen? Just thinking of doing the same thing

been running for a week with it off and love it now that my front suspension is stiffer. going to alabama this weekend with it off cause it drive just fine on the highway without it.

Just a bunch of old crap
So I ran about 2 months with my sway bar off after I had my 885's, 5100's and LR UCAs installed. I liked the flex, but I did notice that my passenger side tire was hitting up into the wheel well too much when the driver's side wasn't. I have a 1/4" top plate spacer on the driver's side to compensate for Taco Lean, and I figured it was because that side was stiffer that it wasn't hitting the wheel well.

I must admit I liked the softer ride and having the extra travel for wheeling, but with the weight of my winch and bumper it was just a little too soft for hitting any bumps with any kind of speed. Now with the sway bar back on as of last night, my ride leveled out and it's much more responsive for the tons of freeway driving that I normally do.

So, all in all, I like having the sway bar both on and off, but unless I wheeled every weekend I think I'll keep it on.

We just took the endlinks out maybe 3 days ago, and we love it. It's SO much softer on the road. The IFS actually works as IFS now. The lean is whatever, it's not bad at all. The truck just rolls as you do in the seat haha

How much would you guess the sway bar weighs?

Yeah it was right about 25 lbs, I'd say. There really wasn't any hardware except for the 2 brackets that hold it to the frame which I just bolted back on to the frame when the sway bar was off so I wouldn't misplace them. The two nuts that were removed to detach from the suspension were just put back on the sway bar when I had it stored.
