Supercharger Vacuum diagram sticker?

So I just failed smog (California) because my truck has the sticker for the stock vacuum diagram which doesn't correspond to the vacuum lines for the supercharger install. Does anyone know where I can find the sticker for the supercharger Vacuum diagram, or if there even is one? I showed the inspector the diagram in the installation PDF, but he said they have to go off of the sticker under the hood.

 

weird, but not surprising I guess. Magnuson might be able to send you one. If not, I'd just print a photo of one off the web and stick to the underside of the hood with packing tape when you get to the smog shop

 

Remove the stock vacuum diagram, and tell him there wasn't a diagram for the supercharger provided to adhere to the hood.

 

I know the CARB sticker is required but I wasn't aware the diagram sticker was, kinda wonder if they are just being super nitpicky to avoid any liability. Some smog shops are like that out here. Might try a different place, if you're anywhere near Pasadena.... there's a good place in Duarte I always go to with my supercharged 04 I can give you the name of.

I have the TRD headers which for some reason aren't technically CARB legal for the 2004 Tacomas (only up to 2003)...but he still passes me.

 

I'd probably fail for not having one at all, lol worth a shot though.

When I got my supercharger from Magnuson, there was a vacuum routing sticker included in the box.

 

According to Magnuson, there are only 2 stickers included with the M62 kit. Fuel and Belt Routing. I'd call Magnuson or perhaps @BartMaster1234 might have something. I recall he came up with some stickers once for something similar.

 

Do you have a picture? If anything, I might be able to mock something up.

 

I'll try to remember to take one next time I'm near the truck.

I pass California smog just fine with the stock vacuum line stickers. It depends on who does your smog I guess.

I pass with just the CARB sticker, and that’s all they should need. I had a K&N intake that changed the vacuum line routing and I still passed with the K&N carb sticker.

 

@Kwikvette might have a smog shop for you. He used to be out there.

 

Yeah I have the sticker under the hood too from whenever the PO had the TRD version installed. When I first saw my smog guy he definitely went to check the CARB sticker but I never once saw him reference the vacuum line one, I think the OPs smog guy is being overly cautious or deliberately trying to get him to go somewhere else. Some of these smog shops out here do not like taking in modified vehicles, even if they're modified with carb certified parts, for whatever reason. Probably got dinged in the past for something and are on thin ice with the state.

 

I guess the place I took it to was just overly cautious. Magnuson replied to me saying basically the same thing; that vacuum routing shouldn't matter. I might mock-up something just to be on the safe side, but first I'll take it to a different shop. Thanks for the input everyone.

 

If you have a local community thread on FB or something, try finding out where other guys go to get their boosted/modified vehicles smogged. Will stand a much better chance not having a stick-in-the-mud smog guy giving you grief over stuff that shouldn't matter like the last guy.

The guy who smogs my car is definitely a car enthusiast, he parks his NSX and his Ferrari inside the lobby. I kind of have a feeling he turns a blind eye, or purposely doesn't look super hard at modified vehicles.

 

I'm gonna take my truck into a different shop in a bit. In the mean time, I mocked up a new sticker and ordered a batch of them just to cover my bases in the future. I'll have 9 available once they arrive if anyone else is interested.

The size is 4.3x5.5 in

 

I made a few more for 2WD Tacomas. Anyone is free to use them for their own vehicles, I won't be printing these.
