There is also ProCharger which isn't as widely used as the TRD/Magnuson s/c but is plenty capable.

You will never want to drive a Tacoma without one ever again. These trucks should have come supercharged from the factory.

It appears that the prices are identical if you go to LCE Performance, SDHQ, other online vendors, and Magnuson themselves. If you wait, there may be some black Friday deals that will shave a bit off the price. I'd also reach out to TW vendors. If you're serious, read through and ask questions in the thread @ZColorado linked to. We don't bite, love fresh meat to induct into the House of Boost, and there are some seriously knowledgeable and intelligent people who are happy to help out.

What do you say about some of the feedback i've heard that the results are "underwhelming"
I'd not expect some crazy amount of power, but something that puts a smile on my face would be expected... right?

For comparison my daily is a WRX

I felt it was definitely underwhelming stock. Replacing with a 2.7 or 2.8 quick change pulley (and its always recommended to upgrade the fuel pump) and you're in business though.

Then you fall into the rabbit hole and supporting mods like cai, headers, exhaust and such all give noticeable gains to the platform.

I'm just hoping for some reduced altitude induced power loss, sounds like it may fit the bill.

When I put mine on it was before I did all the mods to it and it was pretty fast. After the mods (see my sig) the acceleration from a stop started to suffer a bit but then I put in a pedal commander and that issue was solved. Raced an F150 Ecoboost one time and edged him out by a fender. Dude gave me a thumbs up or a middle finger, not sure.

P.S. You may want to upgrade the S/C belt tensioner if you go with the underdrive pulley. I broke 2 of them already. Steeda makes one but I opted to strengthen the replacement tensioner by welding in a 1/4" aluminum plate on the tensioner arm.
