My drivers side sun visor has begun to be real stiff when trying to lower it and it sags now too. It's gradually sagging lower and lower and won't snap up and stay in the up position. Any tricks to fix this or is replacing it the only option. Maybe it needs a lubricant or something?

    FYI
visor hanger is covered by warranty (platinum at least, don't know about any other)

my 2013 visor made a pop noise recently, and then I knew, it broke inside. and yes it drooped about an inch all floppy like

A platinum warranty does cover this. Dealers will tell you 'trim is never covered by warranty' (which is true), and sunvisor is not even listed
as things covered. But I had my visor start to droop on my 2013, and I called Toyota Financial and specifically asked three times
is the visor hinge covered if it droops. they say hold on we gotta check...they cover the 'visor hanger'. I asked again does this mean the
part that bolts on, or the hinge mechanism if it is drooping ? they say well, it says 'visor hanger'....so it's covered

so...I went to dealer, told them what Toyota Financial said...and they replaced it no cost.
    ---------------------------------------
    NEW I was quoted 300 bucks !
    sparks Toyota said 195 !!!
junkyard, for an immaculate visor missing just the lens cover.. 40 bucks !

but it was free for me under warranty

I had the same problem on my 07. found a link in the forum for olathetoyota. called, spoke to Mark in parts, ordered on phone, mailed within an hour. My local dealer in Metairie, LA wanted 121.00 drivers side, 117.00 passenger. i paid 83.00/78.00 respectively. He stated it appears they have now revised the visor for the problem.

Do the gen 3 visors have the same issue? If not, can you mount them in a second gen?

I haven't seen any cases with the 3rd Gen visors sagging like ours tend to. Doesn't mean there aren't though.
From the looks of it, it seems like you could mount the 3rd Gen visors to the 2nd Gen, but the electrical connection is different. So if you're looking to maintain the vanity light, you may need to connect and wire that yourself.
