    Is there a DIY fix for the sunvisors? i already bought one at the dealership and i really don't feel like dropping another hundred dollar bill for another one. dang thing won't stay up all the way. Thanks

    lol I took mine off. It finally just fell. That whole clamp thing did not work as intended for me. At the moment, I'm just waiting for someone else to post a full truck part out and I jumping on both sun visors as long as they have low usage. Thats the best way to get replacements without dishing out $100 + for OEM visors.

    I used to work at the service department and we had at least 10 of these come in for warranties. after that it was like it was normal for these visors to break. For some reason the materials inside are just plain weak and after multiple usage they start breaking.

    i already tried the velcro, no luck. not sure i could live with a large bolt head sticking down like i saw on the other thread about drooping visors. Ugh! i may use a clamp and some super glue on the plastic parts and make sure i glue it in the up position incase it won't come down again.

    headliner material started to come loose from the hard board under the fabric. i didn't want to ruin the headliner too.

    Ok I looked at mine .... I suggest you check / search for the thread of the fix. However, temporarily you might be able to wrap a couple layers of electrical tape around the snap in pivot axle on the right side of the visor.

    And or buy a length of stick on hook and loop fastener and apply it to the back side of the visor to headliner ...


    OOps sorry - I was pre / late posted ..

    if you can use neodymium magnets you could probably do a clean job with those. There pretty strong and cheap at home depot.

    There was a recall on my 2010 camry on the hanging visor. Might want to call your dealership,that's a safety hazard!

    Since I'm well over 6 feet - I rarely need to use the visor, so it's just like new. (Also only have 10K on my 2012 truck ... so limited use as well.) I do notice that my regular cab visor is slightly different that the pics posted. I have no overhead console and the visor does not have a pull out extension. If the visors are the same length - try getting a "regular cab" visor at the junkyard - there my be internal fit / friction changes as well ...

    I did the "drill a hole and stick a bolt through it" method and it is better but not 100% fixed. It seems to lock in place a little better though. that is honestly the best you can do. you gotta but the nut and bolt in just the right place though, otherwise it wont do it's job you you gotta get it real tight too. once you cut the farbic back, you can turn the mount to see where the issue lies.

    Im thinking there should definitely be a recall on this
