Summit Dakar extended wheel studs?

Question about the Summit Dakars wheels. I dropped off my vehicle at pep boys to have my new Summit Dakar rims mounted and balanced. They called me stating that i need extended wheel studs in order to safely mount them to the vehicle. I even purchased the lug nuts off of summit website. My question is if this is actually needed? I havent heard of needing extended wheel studs for these rims.

 

Nvm, got it figured out. Lesson learned, don’t use pep boys.

 

I know its a couple years old but im having the same problem with discount tire. how did you get this resolved? and were you able to mount them?

 

@Danieldee most, if not all aftermarket wheels require an E/T lug which creates more thread engagement.

I just had to buy their lugs.

 

@Danieldee you didn’t have a problem with the length of your studs? I’m being told they’re short and don’t feel like the SSW lug nuts aren’t getting a lot of the stud after it pokes through the wheel.

 

So a good way of going about this and making sure your getting enough thread engagement is to count the revolutions when tightening them. Their are a couple of websites you can google to make sure your good. I'm still rocking the SSW lug nuts years later with stock studs so you should be fine.
