My current muffler has a 3/8" gash from rust on the passenger side and I figured to go ahead and buy a Bosal/Brexhaust kit which kind of looks like a catback(not looking for noise). I have ~200K on odometer (2003 4WD Dblcab Tacoma) and from the looks of it after reading the job appears to be a DIY direct fit. Is my assumption correct? I don't have a welder and I'd like to make this a weekend job.

I'm thinking a sawzall, wire brush, PBlaster, heatgun, and some corrective/preventative Permatex Rust dissolver cleaning is in order where appropriate. I'm in TX so rust isn't too big a deal.

Anything else I should consider? I'm considering carrier bearing and tranny mount replacement while down under. Parts are in the cart right now heh.

    Thanks!

I'm going to install that same exhaust soon. I recently did the spicer carrier bearing and OEM transmission mount too. Pretty easy.
