    Greetings TacomaWorld,

I'm expecting a Leer truck cap in a couple of months and that got me thinking about a bed storage system. Obviously, there's DECKED, but I really don't like the DECKED storage system mostly because its design is a huge waste of space.

There are other companies out there which offer a better product. There's TRUCK VAULT, ARB, etc.
But, unfortunately, it seems they aren't compatible with bed stiffeners :(
Besides building my own, are there any other options or companies out there? (I know DECKED is compatible, but like I said, their drawers and design are a huge waste of space, unfortunately. Other than that, DECKED would be a really good candidate.)

So, are there any DECKED alternatives out there that are compatible with bed stiffeners (without building my own)?

Knowing the price point you're looking at with Decked and having a 3rd gen, you should check out Goose Gear. They can make sure their drawers/storage system works with bed stiffeners.

The wasted space is exactly why I removed my decked drawers... but sorry I don't have a solution for you.

    Thanks for your input!
Ah, I saw that product yesterday night when I was doing my research. That seems like a universal one-size-fits-most system. I'm looking for a system that specifically fit the bed dimensions of a Tacoma (like a DECKED, TRUCK VAULT, ARB, etc.)
Having an efficient system like that provides a nice, large, flat platform for storing more things on top would be really nice.

With that being said, I'm still looking around, but Goose Gear might just fit the bill.

UPDATE: I do not thing Goose Gear will be compatible with bed stiffeners.

I had a truck vault and just notched the filler panels to fit around my bed stiffeners. Took about 5 minutes with a jigsaw and some black paint.

Most alternatives are at a much higher price point. I love my Decked aside from the weight, and the price difference more than makes up for any minor differences in storage space, IMO.

    @zscott
Do you, by any chance, have pictures of what you did to fit bed stiffeners with the TRUCK VAULT?

unfortunately no, I have since removed the truck vault from my truck and don’t have any old pictures.

it was minimal work though. The truck vault has “wings” that fill the gap between the drawers and the side of the bed. They are removable so I took it out and made a 1” x 1” notch to fit the vertical park of the bed stiffeners

Thank you very much for the information. Quick question: what is the TRUCK VAULT made of? Plastic? Wood?

Also, what configuration did you purchase yours in?
    - (1) Covered (2) All-Weather
    - (1) Standard Height (2) Utility Height (3) Magnum Height

Truckvault is a combination of wood and metal.I’ve owned two. Both all weather, one magnum height one standard. I would recommend the standard. The magnum is a bit too tall for a bed as small as the Tacoma’s.
