First time poster. I’ve searched and haven’t found what I need. I am looking for the passenger and driver side wiring diagrams for a Trd sport with heated seats.

The reason I ask is I’ve wanted to ditch the mediocre seats since I picked up this truck and finally found some ventilated, heated, and leather power seats that fit but will need wiring and minor seat rail work. I have the ventilation and power movement figured out. I need to nail down the occupancy, heat, and seat belt switch.

This is the only teaser picture I have, but more will follow once the final install is done.

Well I got the passenger side mounts made. I used the metal tech occupant switch module for that assembly and I’m finally at the point where I’m trying to get the heated seat cushions to function with the taco a/c control module.

I’ve sorted the electric tilt and seat via its own 30 amp circuit and the ventilation is a 2 speed fan unless I can find a 3 position switch and dial in the resistance to the motor or use a pot switch.

Once I’ve fully sorted the heat I’m going to dig into the drivers side.

I hope you will be able to integrate the Air Bags into the seat swap.

Oh yeah! The 3rd gen has the same ocs system as earlier ones and older camrys etc... The metal tech kit allows for manual operation of the system to be turned on/off with a dash mounted switch.

It also allows for the factory airbag squibs in the seat to operate as Toyota intended it too, and the is-f seat has the same assembly in it as a taco.

Well if u get it wired up and working... Let us know. I personally don’t have any issue with our stock seats and wouldn’t want to put car seats in my truck. I know they aren’t perfect but far from bad. Hope it works out well though. Just a lot of work to replace seats in a off-road capable truck. Let us know how it goes!

I will. The stock seats aren’t terrible, I use my truck to commute, haul bikes and get a ton of crap to fix the house. I really wanted ventilated and sport style seats.

For me it’s ideal, I have a thin frame and long legs. I always find myself wanting to set the seat in between two of the settings and awkwardly rotating my body to get comfy in a closer position which isn’t the best for my back.

Thanks bigwhitetrd, that’s a start. I need to breakdown the inner seat diagram for the connectors s40 and s41 from the second .pdf you attached “seat-L”.

I have a copy of the factory manual but the most I could find was the a/c module connecter to the seat heater and how to test with the factory tool. I couldn’t find much on the under seat connector block to the heater/controller and a diagram. Do you happen to have anything like that?

Between the diagrams I posted and the repair manual previously posted, I think you can pretty well figure it out. But it takes investigation...

    For example

Looking at it again, I just realized I answered my own question.
One of your attachments that showed what plug s40/s41 are in the seats and your last attachment which is what I already have clears it all up.

    Thank you!

I never remember which way they are showing the connector (wire end or mating end), but with the color of the wire too its pretty hard to fxxx it up.
You also may like to know that the connector part numbers listed (90980-xxxxx) are available for purchase at relatively reasonable prices from Toyota (~$10 per connector body), but the connector pins that go in them are expensive as hell (usually ~$5 per pin), but sometimes you can find some pins on digikey from molex, etc that fit the connectors well enough...
Attached general Toyota connector repair manual. (Assuming you are trying to preserve connectors)

Good Luck on the Mod. And please post whatever details you figure out for people in the future if you don't mind. It is a lot of effort to really document, but it is really why I think TW is great.

I'm re-pinning the factory connector to the is-f seat usign the oem connectors. I hate wire crimps and shit connections, it makes for nothing but a headache later on. I've got a few pictures but nothing great yet. I'm waiting to finalize and have all the wiring neat/tidy so I can document it all together. Hopefully with all my time figuring this out it will go to good use for somebody else!

Well Good news and bad... I’ve got the wiring sorted and the oem dash switch controlling the heaters/sending the proper signals

Bad news is I’ve got a burnt out heater on the bottom seat pad. There was some signs of damage when I picked the seats up but I chanced it and lost the gamble. Unfortunately these aren’t like taco seats in the fact that the material is glued down to the cushion. I’ll have to carefully investigate and replace or look for a cheap seat bottom on eBay.

    Any ideas?

@K_grendell - this is awesome! Sorry about the burnt heater - had that happen on a Touareg I owned and had to swap a new leather cover onto it - big $$$. I also would like to mod my seats - a lift for the front at a minimum. Better would be a nice setup like yours.
