Does anyone know the dimensions I need for a single sub box I can put behind the rear seats on my double cab without removing the plastic.

You’re probably better off taking the plastic storage racks out...I took mine out and I’m still having trouble finding a box that will fit behind my seats. Without the racks, you need a slanted box, bottom depth of 7.5” and top depth of 3.5”...all the ones I’ve seen though have been for 2 10’s or 2 12’s and I’m just looking for 1 10. With the storage racks in you’re looking at a box even smaller than that and I’m just not sure you’re going to find one retail.
But to get them out it’s just 6 10mm bolts, 3 in each side, and one phillips head screw in passenger side top corner. You need to take both out at same time because they are clipped together. They’ll be a tight fit at first but they’ll come out.

Find a quality stereo shop in your area and have them build you a box for two Sundown e8's. If you insist on keeping the storage trays in the truck, your best option is the JL Audio stealth box.

A few mods here and there and counting....
I built my own 10in single sub box with dimensions someone posted here many moons ago but it will required you to trim most of the plastic out. It looks exactly like the photo above. www.*********.com sells a single 10in/12in single sub box but again, you will need to trim the plastic. The only sub i know what will fit into bin without any trimming are those small dinky sub/amp all in one solutions.

Custom box? Im looking to do the same thing. Retain at the very least the plastic trim surround and will to cut out the middle. ********* has something similar but requires the removal of the plastic panel behind the seat. Any info would be super helpful.

Wanna try and fit one of these but from what y’all are saying the top has to be smaller in depth bc of the seat slant ?

Just installed one of these a few months back. Put it behind the driver side rear seat. Removed the plastic and was still a bit tight.

The Sound Ordinance powered sub (8") is a good start. Puts out decent bass and it fit under my seat. The only thing is it'll vibrate your chair a lot.
I ditched that recently and built my own sub box that fits into the space behind the rear seat. I removed the plastic (no, you don't need to remove both the passenger and driver. They'll unclip separately) and fit a JL 10tw3. There wasn't a nice way to get a 10" with enough internal volume and have the back seats in the UP position. Plus, my backseats are down 99% of the time. Mine fits in the space and is still out of the way for my adventure gear. Since I had more space to play with, I built a ported enclosure. Hits hard is all I can say. Kicker amp under my drivers seat.

hey a14 did you have to remove the plastic that’s attached to the seat also or just the one against the rear cab wall? Also did u go with the 8” or 10”? And did u go with the amped version-‘micro sub or ported ? Sorry for so many questions. Want to try and nail this.
How does it sound and what model Taco do u have ?

Stock entune system non jbl. Single 8inch ported behind driver side rear seat. Had to pull plastic cubby (rear wall) only. Still a tight fit and it sounds decent.

Was it this one with the built in amp . ? Grill covers the speaker and the seat folds fine ?
They make it seem like the 10 ported version is slimmer in diameter. Where did u purchase it and what’s a good price ? Thanks. Also did u install yourself ? Any bass remote knobs

That’s a great sub / box / amp combo. Very well engineered and hits above its weight. I had one of those on the floor behind my front seat before I sprung for a Stealth Box.

    I installed this

    https://www.jlaudio.ca/cp108lg-w3v3-car-audio-microsub-subwoofer-systems-93133

And paired it with a jl amp.

I used a line out converter and wiring kit from Amazon to install. Not sure the price as I had this box for over 5 years. The kit i used included a bass knob which I installed as well, yes with the grill cover still on the rear seat still closed and opened fine.

I got the 8” with the amp built in because it fit behind the front seat on the floor, then I would just unplug it for the rare times that I had a passenger back there. Bought it from the local car audio shop, same price as online.

Once I decided to permanently give up the storage space behind the back seat I went with the Stealth Box and have loved it ever since.

So do u have the Stealthbox with 2 10’s now ? Or is yours the 2012+ model with just 1 10”? Oh So u didn’t put it behind the seats ? U just had it sitting in your back seat essentially rather than removing plastic behind the back seat rear cab storage ?

got any pics perhaps ? May help illustrate.
