    engine swap (stuck valve @260K)
Well, she had a good life for 260K with regular maintenance and long drives.
#4 misfire and found stuck intake valve
Not worth doing heads this many miles and swapping out with a low mileage salvage motor
Frame replaced and she has no rust, so worth the 4K investment (parts & labor)
Was really hoping to get 400K on the motor
Perhaps Techron fuel treatment this go around

Engine replacement for a stuck valve?

To each their own but if you’ve been taking care of it with regular oil changes and such, it seems a bit extreme to me.

How gunked up is the top side?
Have you tried anything to free it up?
Have you done anything to research a remedy or are you just going on what the mechanic is telling you?
    How was it diagnosed?
    Are you throwing codes?
    Have you searched TW?

Valves don't just "stick" for no reason. You should find out if that's actually the problem, and how it happened. Valve guide issue? Seat issue? Stem issue?

Exactly. Bent stem (don't usually bend w/o hitting the piston but...), sat for a while and froze up? Whatever the cause, I don't think it would necessitate a new motor. Plenty of shops rebuild heads, and do valve jobs. Pull the head(s) after finding a reputable shop and take them in. Or take the truck there and let them do it.

    engine swap (stuck valve @260K)
My choice to swap out motor, not gonna do just heads with 260K but thanks. I personally verified valve stuck down pushing down on the bucket repeatedly. It only comes up 7/8 of the way and never seats. Not a broken spring. Valve timing still spot on. If this one is carboned up or anything else, more sure to go soon. Can't fix a slipped guide/seat with head on. I'm agreeing with my mechanic faster using a salvage motor nearby with 100K, well worth the swap out vs. head job and all the labor that comes with pulling heads.

My newer motor will go with my new frame :)

Anyone pull this 1GRFE in a 2nd gen Taco without removing AT? Book says you must.

Valves just don't stick without a reason there is tons of oil in the valve assembly so lube is not and issue. I'm going to guess it's an intake valve because they can carbon up and hold a valve open but not much otherwise the piston is going to connect with it. A broken valve spring can cause this also. If you want to fix it pull the intake and have a look if it's all gooked up it can be blasted with walnut shells this was an issue several years ago with a lot of engines with milage reasonable cheap fix. Even a broken valve spring can be repaired without a head removal.

At 260k miles I suspect a valve guide issue from worn valve seals that allowed oil to coke up seizing the valve

Seems like it would be a smoker if they are that bad. Like I say pull the intake and have a look. This thing should have bad compression on one cylinder and I don't believe that has been addressed.
