I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Risk Racing Lock n Load system. I'm looking at buying this to secure my KX250f in the back of my double cab short bed.

One thing that makes me nervous is how our truck bed are "plastic" and having to drill through it.

Another question I have, is it possible to comfortably for two 250's in that small bed?

Securing the bikes by the footpegs? That's bizarre. And it'll render your bed useless when the bikes aren't in there.

Just roll the bike in and use normal tie-downs. Add a wheel chock if you must.

You should be able to fit two bikes, but the rear wheels will rest on the tailgate.

yeah that's weird. I have a DC short bed and i'll just strap from the handle bars to the tie down in the front of then bed

Yea I use tie downs too. But I'm starting to see these at the track and apparently they work great. Take a ton of pressure off the forks and super fast loading and unloading.

It's has a quick detach knobs to separate the mechanism from the plates for when not using to secure bike in bed so then your bed is as was.

Seems tempting...but just another expense I dont "need."

Yes 2: 250 bikes will fit.
I have a long box but i have no issue hauling my kx250 and my buddys yz250.
Only difference is the bikes might stick out a little past the tailgate.

I have the lock n load system with 2 bikes on my trailer for about a year now. I absolutely love it. I will never go back to tie downs. They are wearing a bit by scratching and rusting because they are not aluminum but I will buy another pair if these take a shit. The hardware they provide to mount it up is shit so go to home depot and buy the m (something hardware) that doesn't rust. I believe it is gold color

I don't know if Broccoli is using the Risk mounts but I don't think 2 bikes will fit with the bed width wise. I could be wrong. You have to stagger the mounts so the 2 bikes are not touching handle bar to handle bar. Which mean one bikes front tire will touch the front of the bed (under the window) and the second bike will have to be about one foot back which will cause the bike to possibly hang off your beds door ( I am assuming you leave the door down on the bed). You can have them touch handle bar ends to handle bar ends but that causes you to mount the brackets wider which might not be possible with the wheel wells. I had this same issue with my trailer it just was simply not wide enough.

Other than all that the plates mount and stay on your bed and the actual foot peg holders are removable from the plate. I take the foot peg holders off and use the trailer for other crap so its nice that it is not permanent. When you buy a ramp get the wider folding one (atv ramp) so you can step up with your bike. It will make your life easier when you go solo.
