No storage behind back seats, smaller console storage...what have you folks done to store things like first aid kits, jump start batteries, tie down straps, etc...

Amazon.com: Muslogy Center Console Organizer Compatible with Toyota Tacoma 2024 Accessories Middle Console Storage Box ABS Material with Anti-Slip Mats Interior Insert Tray (Black) : Automotive

This lets you stack a few things in the small center console.

Tactical Sun Visor Molle Panel — Tacoma Lifestyle

That lets you attach things to the passenger visor (or driver's, or both) so you can carry additional things. I have molle pouches for a pocket knife and flashlight on mine. You can also get molle pannels for behind the seats, the center console stack (both sides), etc etc.

For big things, you're gonna need to get yourself a tonneau cover and either a bed extender or bed cargo box to keep things organized and from sliding around. You can get lockable boxes, bins, or any number of containers to fit in these with the tailgate closed. There are molle pannels for the entirety of the bed that will let you attach the bigger items you mentioned.

    Examples:

VEVOR Truck Bed Extender Aluminum Retractable Tailgate Extender 55.5 in. to 68 in. Fits for Ford Super Duty, F150, Dodge Ram KCCKZKLHJ000IEJ4NV0 - The Home Depot

Truck Bed Cargo Storage Box | Easy Access | Full Size 56" | Rough Country

If you want to keep to the interior, however, other than folding one of the seats down, making a custom platform and putting together a storage system on top, I just don't see where else you can find space. The things you mentioned all would fit behind the rear passenger seat storage space, at least mine do.

I plan on getting a bed cover and just leave storage box in bed, but short term for lockable storage I’m undecided and cannot find one of the over wheel well storage boxes yet for the 24s, as I think that is what I really want. Currently keep storage box on backseat.

Did you decide on anything or anyone else with ideas.

Bought two 20" gray Plano toolboxes from Home Depot. Weather tight, have a lock hole if desired.
One holds recovery/tie down gear. Other holds first aid, inflator, lightweight blankets, gloves, etc. they tuck in nicely under my Roll-n-Lock tonneau and don't move an inch on the rubber bed mat. Tonneau locks so not worried about them walking on a given day. Factory bed side right side pocket holds mesh bed net in case I need it.
On the floor under the front passenger seat is a small jump starter that I leave plugged in to the rear USB port. Clamps for it are removable and stashed behind rear bench with tire jack.

Swing out box. It’s easy to remove if you have to use the bed.

I like the swing box option, but $1400 is too steep for me.

That is awesome. I have been looking for a solution. Where did you get it?

Wow, that swing box lists for $1420 in the new truck configurator accessory, but parts search comes up with $425.00 MSRP for either right or left. I'll have to see what my dealer will give me for a price next time I am there.

Rear seats are basically worthless. I’ll be doing the Goose Gear rear seat delete. At least the 60% side.

Decked drawer system… I need more storage tho!.. Been thinking about a Leitner bedrack but damn those boxes are costly or a Smartcap with the side bins.
