Is there a way to be able to exit with key fob in my pocket without the truck beeping to remind me that the truck is running?

Turn the truck off before you get out.

Doubtful - more than likely considered a safety feature....you'd be surprised how many people exit their vehicle and forget to turn it off.

Nope; vehicles with a smart key fob do it when you're going out of range. Maybe just keep the spare key fob in center armrest or glove box. But then you're sol if it gets broken into. Definitely not an option in Techstream.

If the key is left in the center console its not really being broken into.

Temporarily push the door closed sensor on the pillar - also works when just the accessory mode is on with door open.

Fun fact: your truck can still be driven away without the fob present if the vehicle is already running. The beep is a good reminder to turn it off.

Unplug the beeper under the hood or leave the key in it. Only way around it.

I never had the problem of forgetting to turn off my old truck that just used a metal key. And that key was separate from the house key ring.

Might as well add Nerf foam to the door frames in case someone can't remember to duck getting inside.

Forgetting to turn the truck off has never been an issue, but when we first got the Prius for my wife she would forget to turn it off frequently for the first month or so because the thing was so damn silent. That beep was her salvation. I've never been a fan of defeating these types of features even when they are a little inconvenient. If your dead set to not have it beep the only way I know of is to leave the fob in the vehicle.

You can turn the column of the beep down (and maybe off not sure) in settings on the head unit.

In order to do that, you would have to break the glass and jump through.

    Correct?

sounds a little extreme. I think opening the door is a better option

Or pick the lock. But the only way to lock the truck when it is running is manually. The fob and buttons on the door won't work.

The smart key is made to be smarter than the user. Just do what it wants you to.

I, OTOH, enjoy my traditional key, which I am smarter than.

Yes, I have another vehicle with a smart key. No, I dont care much for it. Let's just say we agree to disagree. Sort of. :D

That is not completely accurate. I tested it yesterday on my 2021 OR with the fob in my pocket.

You can be inside the truck with it running. Click auto down on the driver window. Step out of the truck and shut the door. Click the lock all doors button on the drivers door. Click the auto up window button. Remove your hand an arm fast. :)

You cannot re-enter the truck with the fob. You must use the key. It also remains running, unlike remote start cutoff.
