Truck has 265/70r17 Toyo AT3 SL. I've been resisting the urge to lift but decided to take some photos. If I lift, I'll be keeping the factory rake as shown. Dimensions are from center of fender to ground with 31.6" tires with 32psi.

If I lift, I'll do 5100's or TRD shocks (set at 1.1" or 1.5") and either a 1" block or AAL. I'd prefer an AAL to help reduce rear sag. Truck is sometimes a tow vehicle for a 3400lb UVW travel trailer. I'm tempted to go back to 30.6" (265/65r17) tires too to squeeze all the torque and mileage I can too.

I thought some other folks would appreciate some reference pics. Even though I'm not interested I wish I would have done 2" for those that may have been interested.

If anyone has pics of a 1" or 1.5" lift with 265/65r17's I'd be very interested in seeing them.

Sorry, I've got no pics of my 2/1" lift, but am sooooo glad I did it.

Nothing wrong with the OEM Bilstein OR shocks, just wanted more lift for taller tires. I am sooo happy with my even bigger & better Bilstein 5100s, and a 1" block in the rear. If I carried a lot of weight in the rear, I too would have gone with AAL in the rear.

This is great to see... Thanks for sharing the pics! I'll be lifting slightly when it's time to replace suspension and this seals the deal for me - 1.5" looks perfect!

I tend to agree. I intend to drive this truck stock for a bit before I lift but I like to plan things out. I'm actually swapping over to 265/65r17 WildPeek AT3w SL tires next week to get rid of the rubbing and gain a smidge of gas mileage and torque. My truck has less than 400 miles and I want to enjoy it like it is for a while before dealing with a lift(shocks, AAL, possible ECGS bushing, alignment) on a brand new truck. Hmmm, I'm sounding like my wife(who's very practical).

Here is a picture of my truck with the same tire and size, with a 2/1 lift. I do want to make the rear a 2. I may do springs in the rear. ( I am not a fan of AAL )

    20220803_104337.jpg

I have Eibach Pro-Truck Coilovers on the front so I can adjust the front without removing the assembly. I am happy with the front... not the rear though. It needs the rake.

Looks great. So are your tires 31.6 or 30.6" dia? I do find the ability to adjust the height appealing. Have you looked at the Headstrong progressive AAL? They are $205 but it seems that adding a tapered shim is also a good idea.

    265/70R17 Toyo Open Country AT III's on a 17x8.5 -5et rim.

I am looking at Icon RXT leaf packs or All-Dogs Parabolic leafs would be preferable... not sure I will ever have a constant 200lbs in the bed though...

Thanks for response. How quickly things change. I've purchased TRD lift shocks and looking at a HeadStrong 3 AAL. I like the Headstong because you don't have to cut the OEM leaf band. Is there something I know about the Icon RXT or All-Dogs?

Both are a complete leaf spring pack replacements that provides lift. I prefer this over an AAL on the factory springs. The Icon RXT are a factory style replacement.

    https://iconvehicledynamics.com/acc...coma-multi-rate-rxt-leaf-pack-w--add-in-leaf/

The Alldogs Offroad springs are Parabolic leaves. They have a variable spring rate as part of the design. This makes the ride smoother and still had excellent carrying capacity and flexibility. The only down side is they are built for overlanding set up vehicles that carry an extra 200lbs in the bed regularly. Not sure they would work for my daily driver...

I too don't carry much gear and don't overland either. My truck is also a daily driver. I cannot justify $700-800 on rear leaf packs. If I find a deal on a 1.5" block then I may start there but it seems most folks seem to say a progressive leaf pack(or progressive AAL) is more desirable. Of course I'm hard headed and apparently have sub-par reading compression lately.

With OME 886/Nitrochargers (2.5") front and Dakar HD rear (3") and unladen. Lift measured centre of hub to fender.

As it now sits, same OME/Dakar with Pac Brake air bags now added, front rear bumpers, winch, skids, head ache rack, and roughly 600lbs in the bed. Still 2.5" front and 3" rear on 235/85/16

My issue with an AAL is the nature of spring steel. It has memory and wants to return to it's natural shape. So when you add a leaf to try and force the stock spring into a new arc, a fight starts between the factory spring and the AAL. Eventually the bigger, stronger spring wins and the AAL will start to lose and sag out the rear suspension. This loss of spring arc happens faster when you add load and offroad flex into the equation.

This is why I prefer a block or a full leaf pack over an AAL.

I really appreciate the detailed explanation. I've read other folks same similar. But I've also read a good bit from folks that are happy with the AAL and 3 ALL. Maybe I'll start with a block. I'll read through more AAL vs block threads.

Well, I ended up purchasing a Headstrong progressive AAL to go with the 5100's. We'll see how it goes.

That's easy. 5100's set at 1.1"(or .65") and 1" rear block. I nearly did that myself.
