I was lucky enough to get some stock coilovers with less than 1/2 my miles on them, but the springs are color coded differently than the ones on mine now. I've got trd sport coils, so they have different colors than the trd offroad takeoffs. Can anyone with a 2nd gen trd offroad let me know which side is driver and passenger? The only other thread I saw was for 3rd gens, and it quickly devolved into arguing what a coilover is. I just want to know what the colors mean, thanks all.

Yeah, these colors are different than the ones in that thread, one's white/brown, and the other's yellow/brown. They do seem to change quite often through the years. I'm not sure what exact year these were taken off of.

After having some 2019 take offs sitting around in my garage for the last year, I decided today was the day. Having checked out quite a few threads on what color combo goes where, I was ready to put the one with red/green dots on the DS and the brown/blue dots on the PS. That was until I read the thread @Crow Horse referenced in his post above. Using that method as illustrated in his attaced link, I installed my struts with the brown/blue on the DS and the red/green on the PS.

Install was a breeze and of course the second one took me less than 30 minutes. As soon as I pulled the floor jack out and looked at the DS I could tell the front sat higher. Taking measurements from the ground to the bottom on the fender flare, measurement before were, DS 34 and PS 34.25. After the install measurements were 36" on both DS and PS. I figure some settling will happen in time.

Thanks to @Crow Horse for the link, it (at least for me) settled the which strut goes where question.

Watching some youtube videos yesterday and came across this video that made me feel good about NOT putting the strut with the red and dots on the drivers side. Here's the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmxhVNabrD0

If you're impatient skip to 3:35 and you'll see no visible color dots and then at 4:01 you'll see red and green dots, which were on the back side of the coil. This coil over came from the passenger side of the truck.

I would have to say this reinforces what the link provided by crow horse shows. In that link is an illustration showing the end of the coil faces to the rear of the vehicle. This is what I used to intall my 2019 take offs.
