I would get it cleaned up (stop the bleeding) and super glue it. But that's just me.
My wife stabbed herself in the forearm once opening up a toy for the kid. I superglued that and many other wounds of my own.

Is there a baby on the floor?

Probably could use stitches, but depending on how deep, maybe glue

I just got 8 stitches last month

I'm a fan of SG. I've glued many things that should have probably gotten stitches. I've found there's less scarring with glue though.

If I had a would like that one, for my wound I'd clean it, glue it, and splint it. I'd keep it motionless for at least a few days until there was no longer a risk of the wound tearing open & bleeding more. Once that risk was past I'd start to very gently exercise the finger from time to time to prevent any stiff scar tissue from forming.

Oh it's deep, but he needs to keep the flap on an glue it back down. Cutting off just makes the gash bigger. Ask me how I know;)

As an Eagle Scout I'd say stop the bleeding and just go get some stitches. Looks like a pretty big gash to me.
