Ok. So when is the endgame and drive up in price that's being predicted?

yea, it's basically limiting buy side of the market to let the shorts catch up. It's not as egregious as RH, but it's still fundamentally the same.
I don't have enough funds to cover a $300+ options play...as is the case for many retail investors, but not all.

This is my worry too. Not so much based on short attention span but more that most retail guys have lives, hobbies, friends family they care about, bills to pay. VS. sociopaths that would sell their son to save a buck. There comes a point where you've supported family friends got a few houses, cars, rainy day funds, vacation life for all of them and billions is way past that. Guys like Cohen on the other end of this are simply out to run up a high score to satisfy greed and surely they aren't afraid of doing it by any means

I have 26¢ of buying power. As it turns out, that doesn't meet the minimum requirement for Dogecoin

Just got another email from Robinhood hashing out their excuses:

    A note from Robinhood

We wanted to reach out to you after a transformative week in the markets to answer a question we know many of you are asking: “Why did Robinhood limit certain stocks?”

We understand that the temporary limits we placed on certain stocks this past week were frustrating for many, especially since we built Robinhood to expand access to investing. We have always sought to put our customers first and we want you to be able to invest on your own terms.

To help explain what happened and why we had to take action, we wrote a letter to our customers and captured the key understandings for you below:
    • For Robinhood to operate, we must meet clearinghouse deposit requirements to support customer trades.
    • Deposit requirements are determined in part by how much stock a firm’s customers hold. If a firm’s customers’ holdings are volatile, a broker (in this instance Robinhood) is obligated to meet higher deposit requirements.
    • Last week, in part due to volatility in some popular stocks, Robinhood’s deposit requirements rose tenfold. The combination of the deposit increase and the extraordinary increase in volume on these particular symbols led us to put temporary buying restrictions in place on a small number of those stocks.
    • We had to take steps to limit buying in those volatile stocks to ensure we could comfortably meet our deposit obligations. We didn’t want to stop people from buying stocks and we certainly weren’t trying to help hedge funds.
We hope you take away this: at Robinhood, we stand with everyday investors participating in the markets.Standing by our Robinhood community means being there for our customers through any trading environment. We’ll continue to improve as we break down barriers in the financial system to open it for all.

Thank you for being a part of the Robinhood community.
    Sincerely,
    The Robinhood Team

Could be days, weeks, potentially even months. Years is at least highly unlikely. For a lot of the people involved, it is not about making money. They are instead doing this to kill hedge funds that make their money bankrupting companies and are willing to hold onto their stocks for years if need be. Many hedge funds will gamble on this being a fad and might try to ride it out. The problem with that theory is that MOST people only have 1-5 shares and are willing to let them rot before selling them. While they wait to see if this is a fad they will be hemorrhaging interest payments to the original owners of the shares they shorted. Many hedge funds wont survive and the ones that do will be very hurt from the experience.

My thoughts too. Doesn't at all address the double standard where hedge funds were allowed to continue as normal

Sat my fat rear end in it.
I doubt the hedge funds were using Robinhood.

Even if the Robinhood issue was innocently just the 14,754th episode of gross incompetence from their risk management crew, that's reason enough to leave.

Think of all the times WSB broke Robinhood in the past.

Either they suck due to corruption or they suck due to sucking. Either way you'll never get me near em.

I'll keep digging... Either it will pay, or it won't - the entertainment of watching them sweat is worth it. 11 shares @ 280 :bananadead:
