Anyone know any members of the forum who are sticker/labeling gurus? I searched around and I know there are some people who print stickers but my Google-fu has failed me today and I can't remember who they were.

My real question: I want to make a sticker to be placed near the battery area and I'm wondering what kinds of special material considerations to ask for from the printing company so that the label is more resistant to heat and grease exposure. There again, searching on Google without knowing what to search is like a bottomless pit of information and I'm drowning in the learning firehose. Of course I know I want a vinyl sticker with some UV resistance, but not sure if there are other ratings for heat/grease resistance to specify for the printer.

    Thanks in advance!

Like in the engine bay? I think you’re overthinking it. I’ve put a cheap eBay vinyl sticker on the intake and the fuse box cover in the past and they were still there lookin fine a few years later. Just have one made by somebody using quality vinyl.

I'm 100% sure you are correct about overthinking - that's the exact point of this exercise. I want to see what is available out there so I can figure out price differences, but it's one of those cases where I have no idea what to search for. Hoping someone who makes stickers can give the 411.

Good to know that regular old vinyl stickers hold up well though, thanks!

I own a commercial printing company and we have a latex machine for some of our decals and it cures the ink at around 240 F. Heat cuts the life expectancy of vinyl, but I wouldn’t worry about it for decals. Unless you want to order hundreds or thousands of something I doubt it would be worth the effort/expense finding anything more heat resistant than vinyl decals.

Well shoot I'm not sure I'll find a better answer than that. Appreciate the feedback, looks like I'll give the normal vinyl stickers a try and stop overthinking!

Shouldn’t be very hard unless you are putting it on the engine or exhaust directly. I do stickers stickers in my business.

Well shucks I didn't know you did stickers! I'm still in the far off planning phases of a figment of an idea but I might PM you later if it turns into a real thing. Cheers!

Sounds like a plan, remind me at our next meetup and I’ll give you a couple stickers to try out in that location

No issues here putting decals/stickers on the fuse cover in the engine bay
