I actually have the oval ones on now for my wife to get in easier. If it was not for that, I would not have put them on.

My 5 year old needed them so I have them.

Cleaner look w/o them. I had dealer take the steps off mine and credit me back the cost.

My thoughts it'll make the truck look like it sits higher.. I don't need them. I'm over 6 ft tall.. They do get in the way when I get outta the truck by rubbing up against the back of my pants..

Different strokes for different folks. I think the truck looks more "finished" with running boards / step rails than without. I made sure I found a truck that had them on. Plus they're functional for my kids and shorter people to get in and out. I didn't even know so many people wanted them taken off until I started looking around on this forum. I could see them getting in the way of wheeling though.

But like I said, I like the truck better with them on.

I have them for door protection. When a car parks along side of you thier door will hit the running board.

Sliders ftw! Careless door openers will get what they deserve and they're for something else I guess...

Mine came with the chrome Toyota tube steps, which were too high and close to the vehicle to be effective as steps. I sold them and put on black Steelcraft, which look better and are much more functional as steps.

I don't like mine, but my wife does so there is that. They do keep the 50 year old pajama wearing, Walmart shopping loser who lives in his mom's basement from throwing the door of his 76 LTD into the side of my truck in the parking lot while I'm in Walmart.

I hate them, made sure that my truck did not have them when I picked it up. At 6'3" it is no problem for me to get in and out of the truck, others complain but thats their problem haha. Next will be sliders, way more functional then the steps.

I love my door ding protectors! the tacos do look good with them off though.

I like the look without them but they do make cleaning the roof a bit easier.

Mine came with steps, but they had to go. I took them off because they were so high that they were useless as a step, and I started using the truck more and more off road and they would’ve eventually got crushed anyway.
When I took them off, I painted the pinch weld black.
Then eventually I welded on some sliders.

I like the truck better without them. I took them off (mine came with the same ones that @BlakeM had) and the wife complaints every once and a while about not having them. I think she just getting used to them not being there anymore .

EDIT: My kids are older so it doesn't bother them not having them anymore.

I like my OEM ones well enough, I’d went with N-Fab had these not already been on the truck.

I got power steps...can leave them up or down or have them work automatically with the opening and closing of the doors and they are lighted.
