I cannot for the life of me figure out exactly what the Steering Wheel with Hands on it Icon in the gauge cluster is. Sometimes it is green, sometimes it disappears. WTF?

I read the manual several times and found the sections that cover the Icon but it is so confusing I cannot make sense of it.

Does anyone know what this Icon is for, why it turns green at times and other times it just disappears?

    Thanks all!

    It’s the lane assist.

It isnt sensing enough feedback from your hands.

I drive with my knees so I see it often haha.

Turn off lane assist if it annoys you.

It means the computer thinks you're driving without your hands on the steering wheel.

People couldnt stand 2nd gen that it got huge, tpms, and a electric transfer case shifter.

Change is inevitable. Safety sense reduces insurance rates and a lot of people actually like it.

I only turn it on when I'm fatigued.

    That's fair.

I do like "bigger" though, for sure. At least -- bigger in the cab interior.

The weirdest thing about the 2nd gen 6' long bed is that it is TWO INCHES NARROWER than the 1st gen 6' long bed. I really hate that. Couldn't believe it till I took out my tape measure & double-checked it against my 5-lug '99 Tacoma single cab. (I have a 2014 AC TRD OR and a 1999 Taco single cab.)

    TPMS is meh and annoying.

The electric T-case is a game-changer for driving in mixed on/off road conditions or changing weather.
