Okay I have a 2010 Toyota Tacoma 4wd 5 speed manual all of a sudden the cruise control and the stereo controls on the steering wheel quit working. There's no air bag light on and the horn still works fine. What research I've done it seems to be the spiral cable but what I've read most say the horn doesn't work. I'm not the most mechanically inclined person in the world but I like to try fix what I can. Thanks for all replies.

It's likely a spiral cable, you can lose one or all functions, there is no reasoning, its just a high wear part.

What you can do is turn the wheel left and right with the truck running and try to operate the controls.
If they work then stop working as the wheel is turned, you know for certain the spiral cable is bad.

I've tried cutting the wheel both ways still doesn't work. They were working fine once day and next day they wasn't and when the cruise quit so did the stereo controls. Horn works fine and no airbag light. So this doesn't look too hard I'm gonna try to get one ordered the next couple days and put it in. If it was just the controls it wouldn't bother me but I do a lot of interstate driving and I love the cruise.

Just make sure you get the correct part.

One is for no steering wheel controls and one is for with steering wheel controls.
