    Hi Guys!
We just changed the Power Steering pump. New pump, but used the original P/S reservoir, cleaned the Res screen, and flushed the system.
Put it back together, and seems no issue with the new pump,(no whine).
Since Hubby does the driving, he knows how she feels and responds. We have taken it for a few short drives, and he says the steering is too stiff. That it shouldn't take 2 hands to turn a corner.
Pump and Res have good fluid levels.
Can someone help me figure this puzzle out?

We replaced a lot of hoses, (Radiator, and some Vacuum lines), new Antifreeze, the only thing left to do is the Fuel filter. Even the old girl has new tires!
Even gave the old girl a new grill! I love this truck and don't like seeing Hubby upset.
ONLY thing I think it could be is the belt isn't tight enough?
This old girl has never given us a minute's problem, and I want to make sure that we didn't overlook something.

Did you properly bleed the system?
Wheels off the ground, engine off, full lock both directions 5 times per side? You say you flushed the systems so I'm guessing there is air in there somewhere.

Btw welcome and someone's going to suggest to edit your title without the "HELP"

99% chance it's a bleeding issue. Very important.

Check the lines!!!! I literally just replied to another power steering thread with this:

"At one point a couple of years ago I was fighting a difficult problem with my power steering system. I kept losing pressure at the rack and the pump would start whining like it was being starved. I replaced 3 auto zone pumps and 2 racks, made sure screen in bottom was see through clean but was still having same issue where I was simply not getting circulation of fluid. I finally replaced the high pressure side and return line completely with brand new lines and that fixed the problem for good. I believe the factory rubber lines start to degrade internally and that's what clogs the system and or at some point allows the hose to cave in on itself creating a blockage in the line. From the outside you would have never have been able to tell. Lesson learned to keep that system clean but also, lines matter too..."

If it's still hard to turn it sounds like a fluid dynamic problem. The fluid is partially getting blocked somewhere. If you don't see the fluid swirling in the reservoir while the truck is running there is a good chance the fluid is not being returned to the pump and or circulating efficiently... Could be air too but if you have already done the pump and are still concerned and this is a vehicle you plan on keeping for a while I'd do the lines too.

Having same issues with mine. Replaced my rack about 200 miles ago and it was fine until yesterday. Today the steering is stiff and no whine or anything from the PS pump and fluid level looks good.
