I had my truck lifted on friday. 5100 Bilsteins all around front at 1.75 and dakars in the back. drove it home fine and all weekend it felt fine, went offroading a bit on sunday morning. it still drove fine after that all the way home. Monday morning going to work the steering feels loose. when I turn the steering wheel it feels like it doesnt respond like it use to, but it still drives perfectly straight and i cant see anything that could be wrong.

Its been like this all week. maybe I didnt notice it the first few days? is this normal?

Also I did get some new tires 275/65/17 BFG KOs

    Thanks for the help

Just a bunch of old crap
If you lifted AND put bigger tires on, and especially if it isn't properly aligned, it's going to feel strange and not respond like stock. Being loose is different than wandering, so please clarify what the loose feeling is.

It is perfectly straight when i let go and drive on a straight road but if I hit a couple bumps (while holding the wheel) it wants to pull with the road more then I remember.

Mostly it seems like when im turning It goes a little to easily and I have to turn it a little farther.

OP get your alignment numbers and post them up here, as your shop may have used stock Tacoma numbers rather than align for a lift.

Curios, what are the specs/numbers on a lifted Tacoma vs. stock Tacoma. I lifted my Tacoma last week, OME 866 & Dakar rear leafs. Now you got me thinking about the alignment.

When lifting, you lost caster. That's going to make it feel less accurate.

Check the psi in your tires. My steering felt lighter when I put new tires on and when I checked the psi it was up at like 42-44psi. Dropped it down to 38 and it feels much better.

When you lift the the truck camber angles go positive + caster goes neg. You cant obtian of pos. Caster with out replacing the upper control arms with after market ones....caster is the stability angle. ..the more the better...I've been aligning vehicles for over 30yrs...if it was my truck ideal set up would be o° camber 3.5° caster on R/S + 3.2° on L/S for road crown...and 0° toe:cheers::cheers:

Normal. The Tacoma suspension geometry has some bump steer. The more you lift, the more it is felt. No easy way to correct this unless you go with a long-travel kit ($2000-$4000).

This is due to the loss of caster as described above. If you want this restored, get aftermarket upper control arms to regain caster.

Look into the zip tie mod for steering column.
