Has anyone had any quality issues with their SCS wheels? The SCS logo on my Ray 10s is starting to peel off and my wheels are about 1 year old on a pavement princess.

@whatstcp I just discovered the issue last night and planned to contact them today. It is at the top of my to-do list.

SCS center cap has a thin protective film covering it. Did you carefully peel this off already after your initial installed? If not, go ahead and do so.

PM me if you have any questions.

@SCS The entire center caps seems to have come unglued. I can send a picture later.

Just not a fan of the thread title. All companies have a percentage of products that will have minor issues at the very least. This doesn’t mean there is a quality issue. It’s better to contact the company and resolve it that way, and if you get blown off you can share your thoughts on customer service.

I’m not taking sides here bc God knows there’s fan boys for every manufacturer out there who will fight to the bitter end if you question their brand. And another scs thread was closed recently bc of how he approached it. But what I’ll say is there is nothing wrong about asking a community forum if anyone else is having issues. How else are people supposed to find out about potential issues from a brand and whether or not they’re wide spread? This is (possibly) the second scs quality control issue in 2 days that I’ve seen. Maybe this thread will have others say, Hey, yea...my center cap’s clear is peeling off too.
Then scs can address a larger problem. It’s not hurting anyone’s product sales. Or maybe it’s simply letting a dude vent bc he’s bummed about dropping 1200 bux on a product he expected to last longer for that price.

So here is the issue. From the photo it doesn't look that bad, but it is really only holding on by a little bit of glue on one side. Also, I am certainly not here to bash them. In fact, it could be quite valuable for SCS to have HONEST feedback from customers. How are they to know if an issue is systemic if people are not reporting it to them? How are other forum members supposed to know what could happen to an item that they purchase if it is not shared? My intent is not malicious is any way, I still think SCS makes some of the best looking wheels out there and as of right now if I had to buy another set of wheels, they would probably SCS. Lets be honest, their bronze wheels are gorgeous.

Im not disagreeing with you, I simply said I didn’t like the title of the thread. It’s a statement, not a question. A thread that says, “has anyone else had issue with scs center cap logo peeling? Would be better IMO. Or a shortened version of that

And it’s not you mentioning the issue, it’s only the title I questioned. If one of your Tacoma badges started coming loose after a year, you wouldn’t question Tacoma quality. You’d ask if anyone else has had a badge come loose. It’s certainly your right to handle it however you please. I see it all over the forum, people creating a thread before contacting the company or the seller if your shipment is late or you got the wrong item or something is wrong with it. I just prefer to mention it behind closed doors first, and see how it’s handled. It’s all good though. Let us know how it gets resolved

    Hey Adam,

Since you didn't want to handle this through PM, I will post a reply here. Hopefully, it will be helpful to all other members like you stated.

First, it looks like the clear film was never peel off. If the other 3 center cap logo still look dull/matte, peel them off before the plastic film dries itself out and damages the logo. It should look glossy once removed.

Second, it appears that someone, most likely the wheel/tire shop, put a nice dent on the logo. This often happens when shops press on the center cap logo instead of on the painted area when they snap the cap back on. The shop might have tried to fix the dent by prying out the logo and sticking it back on. It is held on by adhesive so once you take it out once, it does not stick on as well the second time around. Obviously now with the dent, the logo does not have the proper contour to the dome shape of the plastic center cap. The result is what we're seeing here with your photo. The logo won't just dent itself and peel off if that's your concern.

Fortunately, we do sell replacement logos. They are only $3ea. plus shipping. You can send me a PM if you'd like to order one.

@Iwilltaco You make a good point and the title has been changed to reflect your input. Cheers!

@SCSPerformance I appreciate the quick reply, my intent was never to smear the SCS name. I will send a PM and order a couple.

    All,

Just as an update. SCS has been quick and super professional in resolving this issue. If you ever have an issue, just reach out to Vin or @SCSPerformance and they will help you solve your problem.

A big thank you to SCS for standing behind their product even when it looks like the issue was likely the wheel and tire shop.

So the lesson here is don’t push on the center of the cap, and don’t let the ham fisted tire shop guy do it either
