I recently purchased a Flexopower Lithium 444 battery pack after reading some decent reviews. Unfortunately I didn't delve deeper.

After receiving the pack I plugged it in to charge it with my household service (110/120v) and all it did was blink for about 15 seconds and stopped, not charging. I tried several times and nothing. Messaged them and they sent me another with no questions (I should have been suspicious) and no return instructions. After the second unit arrived, I plugged it in and it charged successfully. As they recommend I then recycled the first unit.

Taking my charged unit on the trails/camping I kept it "charging" with my 12v accessory socket (cigarette lighter) and had my dometic fridge plugged in and powered. It lasted 2 nights no problem BUT when I went to charge it through my accessory socket, all it would do would blink that it was charging but never actually charge. Specs state that it would take up to 6 hours to fully charge from 12 volts but nada!! I then contacted Flexopower again and they said to return both units and they would test the units and report back to me. I told them what I had done with the first unit and that I would send it back if they returned my money and paid for the shipping. They then stated that was against their return policy of 30 days and just send it back and they would report.

I then did a more comprehensive search on the unit and have discovered that this issues has been common with their units and they are either offering to test and report on the units, replace them or have not replied to some customers. Good customer service, eh? For now I am dealing with charging it with my onboard 110/120 inverter ('17 Tacoma OffRoad). Can't wait for my solar hookup!!

So in conclusion, you want a reliable battery pack, STAY AWAY from the flexopower 444 unit.
