I have little to no experience on Toyota other than daughter's Matrix. My girlfriend has a 2010 6 Cyl Tacoma 2WD. Solenoid willclick and not engage. Thought it was bad battery, it was 6yrs old so I replaced it (needed it anyways). Same issue. I ran a computer on the charging system and everything is good. It will click and if you keep t rying it will finally engage so I am assuming I need to replace starter/solenoid. Is it worth rebuilding? I see the kits and they don't look like rocket science but are their other things I should be concerned about? Any insight is appreciated.

I would rebuild it. It’s usually just bad contacts.

    Pretty much stock right now
ˆThis. If you have the tools and know how, it's a pretty cheap and easy fix. Plenty of instructional videos out there for starter rebuilds.

Depends on what your time is worth. I'd just replace it.

just rebuilt mine and spent $15 bucks. Truck had really bad starts. Now works perfect. Just got new contacts and seals and wire brushed everything with a little wd40 to keep moisture out. Works great!
