Has anyone had success using the Start-x remote start module pair with the Car Link Phone module they offer as an option on their Amazon site?

Trying to get it to work on my 2018 Tacoma. Car Link customer service told me to get lost since the issue is with "Start-X". And Start-X only opens Monday thru Thursday and have not replied to my emails.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Did you use a harness that came with the Start-x or the ones that came with the Car Link? I used the one left over one that came with the Start-X.

Also, best to drop the cell receiver behind the plastic kick panel by your foot rather than leave up in the dash.
I put mine in kids sock so that it didn't rattle.

I think I might have done step 5 wrong. Do you happen to have the first portion of it?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I want to make sure I've got this right. I'm trying to add the Car Link to my already installed Start-X module.

Is the wiring image above the same for the '19 push-button start and the non-push-button?
Are power and ground connections from the Car Link still required, or is the power and ground being taken care of by the combining of the units?

    Thanks in advance!

@SamOfSteel and @DTaco18... Hoping one of you can advise. So... I'm not sure if my original Start-X wiring is different from yours or not. I've connected the black clipped harness from the Car Link extension to the blue harness poking out of the wrapping of the Start-X harness which is labeled RF Kit. I get power to the Car Link and solid red and green lights.

I can start the car with the remote like I've been able to do since I installed Start-X a year ago.

I go to the app. Enter the Serial Number, vehicle info and select Fortin as Protocol. The app says the "device will reboot". Which device? Nothing reboots?

When I go to my vehicle in the app, I can see the location of the vehicle (GPS), I can see the battery level, I get a signal icon coming from a car with three bars. I try to lock, unlock, start, cancel start.... nothing.

    Any ideas?

Sounds like you still need to do the "learn" process to link the ASCL6 to your remote start... See STEP 6 above.
The three signal bars and voltage on the app are there because the ASCL6 is powered up.

I've done STEP 6 on the START-X and redone it. I'm starting to think that I can't flash the ASCL6 for some reason. I've tried changing the Protocol from Fortin to other options, waited 5 minutes, restarted ASCL6. Changed Protocol back to Fortin, waited 5 minutes, restarted.

There is something simple that's just not happening.

The learn process was successful? You get RED,YLW,BLUE and then RED,BLUE flash? The ASCL6 has solid green light?
I've installed several of these and never had an issue after that ASCL6 was learned to the Fortin unit...
If both of those items have happened, then I have no other recommendations.
It's possible that Start-X didn't program the Fortin unit to accept the ASCL6, but this is not likely since they've offered it as an option and also include the wiring in they're harness.
Could try to contact them with the S/N to confirm it's compatible and get other suggestions. Help@RemoteStartX.com

One more thing... are you sure the adapter harness you using is the HRN-LLRS-01? The wire colors don't look correct.

EDIT- I just pulled up the manual. Connection wire colors match, so this shouldn't be the issue.

It's working somewhat now after restarting all devices. Reprogrammed Start-X while connected to ASCL6. Switched Protocols from one to another and back to Fortin (lots of time in between). Now the only issue seems to be reliability within the app or the cell signal. I can start the truck, then all the icons go grey and I can't turn off the truck in the app. Another time it attempted to start the truck, it failed, attempted again on it's own and it started, but the app reported failure.

Just restarted all device one more time and it seems to be working pretty consistently. WIll keep the fingers crossed it stays that way!

Thanks @DTaco18 for sticking with me on this one!

@DTaco18 Yes! Seems like reflashing everything and a couple of reboots did the trick. Hasn’t lost signal since my last post and I was able to start her from inside the grocery store today. Bring on the AZ heat! Thanks for your help!

I just installed this about 2 weeks ago on my 2018 trd sport, this helped a lot. No you don't need to connect to the power and ground from the module.

I also found out in order to program the green light has to be solid and connected before programming. That's telling you it's connected to the cell network. I couldn't get mine to program for anything here at the house, we have one or two bars here at the house. I go to the gym in town for my workout and program it in the parking lot with full bars and a good red and green solid light. The thing programmed and I can control it when I'm out in town. Thinking about getting a cell booster for the house to fix my problem.

Anyone figure out which wire you splice into for the horn pulse signal? I've spliced into left and right turn signals under the dash for stinger heigh10 blind spot cams. I figured it's in there somewhere.

So I have had this set up for about a year and a half. The app worked perfect for about a year, but for the last 6 months the app will still communicate with the truck, start it, stop it, lock it, unlock it, but the app doesn’t get a response from the truck and it think it didn’t work. The only issue with this is not getting confirmation that the truck has started.

I’ve reprogrammed the module many times, redownload and updated app, called support and all they can tell me is that it times out and the app never gets confirmation that the truck was started/locked etc.

    Has anyone else had this?
