Anybody know anything about them? They look pretty good and easy to install I was just wondering if anyone has them or knows much about them.

Go ahead and send it over if you don't mind man. I've got one or two more projects before this one but it won't hurt to go ahead and find some

    Hey ocaldwell332,
Are you still interested in the Starr HID kit from Headlight Revolution? If so, I recently bought the kit when it was on sale.

Those used to be called ACA headlights, and used to go for $1000 new.

That being said, they are decent headlights but the projectors aren't mind blowing. A mini d2s or even a mini H1 is better.

The main issue I have with that kit is that it uses a D1S bulb. The big silver box is the ignitor. Bulbs don't do this anymore, and for good reason. The bulbs are expensive and hard to find, and require a ballast without an igniter attached. They make adapters now, but they aren't cheap and I can't remember if they would even work with these headlights. I am pretty sure they don't because looking at the picture of the back of the housing, they are made specifically for D1S bulbs and nothing else..

I used to have these a long time ago. They're very meh. And the D1S bulbs are stupid.

Sorry, for $600 (what the actual fuck) for cheap plastic made in Taiwan, I'll pass. Absurd how they still cost as much as some steel-fabbed bumpers...

    yep...

If you're off roading with your rig, ditch the idea of HIDs and just get an LED lightbar for the roof. $600 will get you a damn fine lightbar, and roof mounted gives you better light positioning (higher = fewer shadows, etc...) than any stock location light could.

For on-road use, the "ultimate upgrade" has been producing more than enough light for me, just using stock (new CAPA cert) housings, wire harness and brighter halogen bulbs.

I offroad with mine and my retros are just fine... never gone out of alignment or anything. The LED bar may be good, if you're riding point or by yourself.. but it's a good way to piss people off who are trying to see in front of them if you're behind them.. even cheap LED lights will blind the shit out of me if someone's behind me.. and I have 5% tint

True, but even my stock location high beams will blind the person in front of me. That's why you install a switch... :)

Projectors still suffer from the same fate as any stock location headlight. While brighter and/or with a better cuttoff pattern, still produce more shaddows, and don't project the light as far down the road as a roof mounted light.

If you're following someone, that's NOT what you want (well, not what THEY want) lol...
