Hey guys...Sorry if this has been asked in the past...But I'm looking for a stainless steel muffler that is quiet like the stock exhaust. Any recommendations??? I just picked up my 2nd Tacoma 2001 3.4 double cab with a new frame! :) Thanks Mike

Bosal is going to be as close to stock as you can get. The stainless isn't the greatest but it's better than Walkers.

Stock (OEM) should last longer than a parts store stainless muffler (they rust at the welds). Also, I believe if you buy a muffler from toyota, you get a lifetime replacement warranty. That said, I bought a walker quiet flow SS system, knowing that I will have to replace it 4+ times to break even with the price of OEM...I just don't expect to have the truck that long, as it's already spent nearly 19 years living in the rust belt.

The larger magnaflows will work, I have one with a header and a high flow cat and it's not much louder than stock. Just a deeper tone without sounding like a civic.

I heard a civic last night that just had me cracking up. The term "fart can" made so much sense.

Second this! The Magnaflow mufflers seem like they would last forever! Their stainless pipes have about a five year lifespan, here in the salt capital of the northeast. I'm on my third set under their lifetime warranty, since 2010. I theorize that they need an additional hanger bracket just in front of the muffler, as the pipe rusts/corrodes at the joint and shears off. From constant, although minute flexing of the junction. I have a gibson exhaust, sounds just barely louder then stock. I'm pretty sure they make a stainless version.

Recently installed a magnaflow part # 11255. Only $120. This is on my Land Cruiser 100. Not any louder than stock, just a different, beefy tone. Left the factory resonator installed. In the Amazon reviews, a lot of Tacoma folks have installed this same muffler.
