Dropped my Ipod and couldn't restore the settings; bad hard drive. Battery was going bad to so decided it was time for an upgrade.

    Parts:
-mSATA SSD adapter (there are cheaper solutions; don't get them. This ships from Europe so its a bit of a wait): http://www.tarkan.info/store/iFlash-Sata - $40

    -mSATA 256GB Crucail M550: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IRRDJ4W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1- $100

-(Optional) Battery (Apple doesn't make the OEM available so you have to by china batteries. This one is rated more than Apples 450ma specs but its probably about the same): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K3XEH76/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

-(Optional) Tools (these are not very durable and are good for maybe one or two Ipod opens. I used a small flat time screw driver to supplement): https://www.gadgetmenders.com/repair-tool-kit-for-ipod-classic.html

For about $150, you can get a 256GB Ipod with better battery life

If its a bad logic board, you can buy one of those too :notsure: You can pretty much build your entire ipod from scratch.
