I would suggest taking your truck to a large, local reputable auto upholstery shop and have them use their samples to find an available upholstery material that would match and then either have them re-do your current seat covers or buy the material yourself and send it to the seat cover manufacturer of your choice for them to use in manufacturing your new seat covers. Probably the only way you can be sure you will be happy with the material choice.

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll start researching the area for one. I appreciate the idea.

The new 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 package has a black and caramel interior rather similar to OP’s truck

I have the camel inserts on my SR5. I actually like them as well, but I am building my truck around a black/red theme so I will be changing the color soon.

Looks fine to me. Seats would appear nicer if it had the same color stitching.

Without all of the trim in that color it just looks like someone put some cheap aftermarket trim on it. Looks wrong.

I did not realize that this is a seven year old thread.

So just to update, I have actually found a couple of leather seat manufacturers that have a near exact color to the caramel inserts. After many different swatch samples and reaching out to different companies, I have landed on two that have near exact matching colors of leather. Katzkin Leather has a color called autumn. Another manufacturer, LeatherSeats.com has a color called Burnt Orange. Those two are the exact same colors, just named differently from the manufacturers.

I'm leaning very heavy to LeatherSeats.com and burnt orange body/inserts with black wings and burnt orange piping because they sell the leather kits, tools, and provide 100% support for the DIY'er, and that is me all day long. I can get the same design from Katzkin leather. However, they will not sell the kits direct to the consumer. They send you to an installer in their network and keep the vehicle for about a day or so and do the install.

I have attached screen caps of the designs I built on Katzkin.com and LeatherSeats.com for reference. Note: LeatherSeats.com just uses a generic seat for their mockup, whereas Katzkin uses the actual Tacoma seat design for their mockup.

I have katzkins and they're fantastic. I had mine installed, as it looked like a PITA. There are plenty of members here who have installed their own. We have vendors here that will sell them direct to you.

My unsolicited advice? Remove the piping... it's overdoing the "accent" color.

Sorry for the spamming. Here is a source for DYI Katzkins.

Update: I ended up going with a kit from LeatherSeats.com. Julian, the rep I worked with there, has been phenomenal. He took his time talking with me over the phone to discuss what I was looking for after I had received the swatches to compare and color match. He got the order placed for me after discussing some options I had to supplement for the pro tools they use in their shop (ie. headrest shrinker & upholstery steamer), and he even threw in some headrest shrink bags for me. Any time I ran into an issue or a question about a certain process, mainly installing the arm rest cover, he's been quick to respond and provide guidance and tips that they use in their shop.

I've only had time, up to this point, to get the two front seats and arm rest installed. I plan on tackling the back seat some time in the next week. All in all, it wasn’t terribly hard to do. Just a little time consuming and tough on the hands at times. Anywho, here is a pic of the finished install of the front seats and arm rest. Will post update pics of the back once complete.

Those red lights are a nice accent to the trim. I like it.
