i'm new to this forum , and it looks like there are a number of related threads, so sorry if this is a redundant thread . the vehicle in question is 2 states away at a dealership, so i cant examine it firsthand , i only have access to dealer photos, and maybe photos i get the guy on the lot to snap for me. all apparent signs point to SR5 4wd, that's how its billed, priced, labelled, and there is only a blank button where the rr diff lock button would be . BUT , the carfax report is telling me that the vehicle for that vin is a TRD PRO ??? is the carfax report wrong? is the factory VIN info wrong ? - how reliable is the carfax info regarding vin ? any cases of a vehicle being manufactured with the intent of TRD pro , but then the package never got installed and VIN info reflects incorrectly ? any chance i stumbled onto a TRD PRO that is mislabeled and the RR diff button was never labelled as such ??

They could have entered the wrong vin for the correct truck in human error. Not likely it's some trd pro unicorn that left the factory w/out a rear locker. I'd call the dealership and confirm what you're looking at first.

Don't trust the VIN they publish in the listing, have them take pictures of the VIN on the dash, the door jamb, the windows, etc. They should all match, and I bet they are different that the VIN in the listing online. Something isn't right here... Post the link.

It's not a Pro. Common mistake, the Carfax is wrong. It's the same reason there are so many non-Pro 2nd gens listed as Pros by dealers: their system grabs info out of a database to auto-populate the listing but the info is incorrect.

Example: check out these listings. 13 listed as 2015 Pro but only 1 is genuine. https://www.ksl.com/auto/search/ind...o=2015&miles=25&page=0&cx_navSource=hp_search

Title VIN's are misread sometimes... U's and V's, for instance.

This is normal for carfax, the truck is not a Pro. My truck is listed as a Pro by carfax but it is an Off Road.

Welcome to the forum and nice job doing your homework. Post up some pics once you purchase!
