SR/SR5 OEM LED headlight conversion harnesses

Question, is PuppyHunter better or worse than PuppyPunter?

 

Hmmm guess it depends. Is the puppy punter punting the pup till death or is it a single punt where the pup will most likely survive?

If the former I would say puppy hunter is better. I picture the puppy hunter giving a fast and clean humane kill.

I also read your username as "puppyhunter" instead of "puppypunter" until the earlier posts. I would say both could make sense if the puppy hunting was to lead to punting of said puppy.

Just curious, has anyone made a video for installing OEM Led headlights on an SR5? Instructions seem pretty straight forward but a visual aide is helpful to me

 

Finally got time last night and installed the oem led headlights on my SR5 and everything works except the turn signals. Low beam, high beam and drl works. Has anyone had this issue?

I made sure the harness is connected like the pics, that the cables matched on the low beam and high beam connectors, hooked up the controller and capped the side marker connector. Is there a particular wire I should watch for for the turn signals?

 

I tried some led switchback bulbs I had from a while back and they are functioning correctly where the bulb acts as the drl and turn signal, so I'm thinking maybe the controller black box thingy from the harness is no bueno?

I'm tempted to replace and splice the working switchback box from my other led bulbs with the controller from the harness but I will probably make things worse. i should wait.

 

It's unlikely they would both be bad. Have you checked your fuses?

 

Yes fuses are good. With my old aftermarket switchback turn signal/drl bulbs function correctly where they are white when headlights are in DRL mode, and turn amber and blink when in turn signal mode.

When I disconnect the the resistor I get hyperflash, so the resistors are working as expected.

I'm stumped.

 

Update on my install. I removed the controllers and connected directly and now the led turn signals work but they blink white not amber and all the lights must be on. Wish they were blinking amber but at least I have blinkers in the front now.

 

Final update: The controllers were fine, the problem was the controller 3 wire connector that connects with the headlight plug. I removed that little tooth that forces you to connect the 3 wires in a certain way with a razor, I rotated the connector and tested and voila!, the turn signals are amber and working properly along with everything else.
